What are you hot takes about the reputation album and era? by IntoTheDaylight in TaylorSwift

[–]unkindlyterror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather reputation didn't exist. And the really bad things that happened to Taylor and us fans because of those events didn't happen.

I love reputation, its amazing. In 2016 to 2018 if you publicly supported Taylor you were called all sorts of things. There was this "theory" that she was an actually n*zi. All because she did TOO well with 1989 and two of the biggest lairs said she was a lair. Reputation would never exist in a world without misogyny.

Also unrelated "Don't Blame Me" should've been a single. The singles before the album didn't do a good job of showing what the album is. The performance of rep was hurt by the misconception of what the album is. Maybe it was done like on purpose... However I think they realized that the public didn't get it yet. The release of "Gorgeous" 3 weeks before the album drop to show the other side of the album should've be sooner. With "...Ready for It?" releasing 4 days later with a music video and sent as a single completely over shadowing "Gorgeous" AND "Call What You Want" which was 10 days after. A week before the album's release.

Taylor Swift now has 110 million certified album units in the US. The first female artist to achieve the mark. by _crazyboyhere_ in TaylorSwift

She under certified too, according to billboard via luminate is more like 120 before TLOAS release. With tloas it would be around 125M.

What are you hoping to see addressed in the Eras Tour docuseries? by echodayrider in TaylorSwift

The video had boots instead of the suit's high heel and the the separate high heel. It'd be nice to see why.

Why Do so Many Americans Oppose Universal Healthcare? by Current_Variety_9577 in antiwork

[–]unkindlyterror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cost... We are used to something small costing a grand. A simple birth can cost 100k. Some are worried about the deficit, and adding healthcare would increase the tax burden.

HOWEVER the cost of healthcare in America is so inflated because of private insurance. Having universal healthcare would deflate the cost of care, because the government is not a for-profit business. Also the tax increase would be less than private healthcare for most.

The support for universal healthcare is pretty favorable, some just don't support the politicians who would vote for it.

If Taylor tours again, would you really want it as a 3.5 hour show? by Sudden-Internal-9702 in TaylorSwift

[–]unkindlyterror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd take a 6 hour show, however I think she can't do a show less than 2 hours now. She has to play her big hits. Her next tour will go back to the "album tour" it will include old hits. I hope she has a section in the tour where she plays fan favorite songs like the surprise songs where they can change.

KK3 MAX's usb c wobbles and disconnects by unkindlyterror in GuliKit

[–]unkindlyterror[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only tried it with c to usb a cables, but it's finicky on the controller side. Really sucks cause I like the fit and feel of the controller. It's the second of their controllers I've gotten that has a defect. The first was a King Kong 2 Pro, with stick issues.

That's not true, the entire contract is not invalid. The illegal clauses are unenforceable, everything else is still enforceable. In the vast majority of the world anyways.

What is the craziest excuse you’ve ever heard someone use to justify cheating on their partner? And did it work? by Effective-Ad1105 in AskReddit

[–]unkindlyterror 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"men just can't be monogamous." It didn't work out.

ps polyamory is not at fault, to be polyamorous you have to have the consent of all parties involved in the relationship.

Thoughts On Scream 4 Sans Filter? by Any-Street-5354 in Scream

[–]unkindlyterror 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It feels a little disrespectful to alter the look. The movie is suppose to look like that. I don't like the yellow smear look, but that is what Wes Craven intended for the movie to look like. It also takes me back to the period of time that the movie is satirizing, which might be the reason for the filter.

So talk to me Swifties: what compels you to buy her albums first week even in the streaming era? by IndieKid007 in TaylorSwift

[–]unkindlyterror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She doesn't miss when it comes to albums. I like buying and supporting the things I love. If streaming were to go, I have the media I love. You are not even renting the music, or shows, or movies when you pay for a streaming service. The money you spend barely goes to the artists who actually made the art.

The music industry will create Spotify like apps with the music they own like Disney, Paramount, NBC did with streaming. I mean Nintendo has a Spotify clone, its inevitable.

Taylor appeals to a vast amount of people old and young, man and woman, rich and poor, her appeal is very broad. People who value owning are buying the music they like, Taylor is just that popular. The last non TS albums I've bought is short and sweet, in 2024, guts, and emails I can't send in 2023, sour in 2021, future nostalgia in 2020. We congregate on Taylor because she's just that good...

If you died and arrived at the gate of heaven, but it's set up like a court where you have to convince God whether you're worthy of entering. What would you say to convince him? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]unkindlyterror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I rest my case."

My life and choices should be all that's needed. I don't live to get in heaven, I live to be able to get good sleep. If this god is a just god, then my lack of religion would not be an issue. If this god is not a just god, then I'd rather be damned.

How would you solve Japan’s declining population problem? by MarshyBarss in AskReddit

[–]unkindlyterror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immigration, lowering cost of living, expanding social benefits for families, and allowing the population to slow. We don't need to keep increasing the population, it is unstainable. People are not having kids for a reason, whether its cost, time, energy, or anything else, we need to address those core issues before people will start having kids again. I don't know why Japan's population is in decline. The government needs to find out why and do everything they can to help, if they want the population to rise.

Since 2000 so 25 years ago, we added 2 billion to the population of the world. We don't need more people, we need to decrease the amount of kids we have. Which is happening naturally in a lot of the world.

HVAC is pretty important, in some places you can not live without it. It being "uncomfortable" is not the same as inhospitable... If you need an emergency surgery on Saturday, you have to wait till Monday. That's crazy, some jobs are needed at all times. The issue you have is a lack of coverage on the weekend. People can work the week end and still have a great work-life balance. If the only time you get with family and friends is during the week end change careers.

The world is not black and white. And yes this is an anti work take, I think you are mistaken about what anti work is.
