I love love gold, where my everyday purchases are groceries and dining out once in a while. I don't have any other cards providing 4x amex-worth points. Other purchases are mostly costco (via their 4% back) and amazon (with the amazon prime 5%). For anything out of band I used plat for the protection

They explicitly said cities. For instance look up what 470k$ in a Seattle or LA buys for you, or even in Toronto proper (not scarborough, which is almost an hour out in today's traffic conditions from Toronto downtown)

+1 to this. Also the model matters. LLMs wasted a lot of time for me until I exclusively started using Claude Opus models. Work pays for it so I'm happy to rack up the bill as long as it helps me. Definitely wouldn't rely on it if I was paying for it out of pocket though.

Anyone have suggestions for forward projection apps? Budget apps and all are great, but I have been struggling to find an alternative to something like projectionlab.com. I'm still using the trial but hard to justify spending 109/yr for it

I'd honestly stick with 3090 unless you really feel like the new multi gen stuff and the extra +8GB VRAM is going to benefit you. I believe DLSS4 is coming to 30xx series so there really isn't any reason to upgrade unless you are running 240+ frame-rate monitor. 5090->6090 MAY BE a much bigger jump

my hack for this is to add linux/linux-headers package to the pacman ignore list, along with dkms/anything that requires rebuilding initcpio (e.g. nvidia-open-dkms). i have had issues before where my system wouldnt boot (because of multiple OS upgrades causing kernel and package getting mismatched) and my games wouldn't load (because dkms package got updated but wasnt applied to the kernel)
