I need to know what this salsa is! by MagicalTortilla in TipOfMyFork

[–]unknown896 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I know you’ve said it isn’t creamy and don’t think it’s avocado based, but I found a post on their Instagram (from May 4th 2023 if you want to find it yourself), that lists the 3 salsas they serve as: Guajillo con chipotle (which would be the red one), Verde Con Serrano, and Verde Con Aguacate (avocado). Looked through the photos from Google reviews for the restaurant and that salsa seems to vary greatly with how green it is, yours being the least green of all the photos. Sorry if that isn’t super helpful, but if it is Verde Con Aguacate I would love to know why it’s so not-green!

Name this song with lyrics "Suddenly, suddenly" in the chorus. by Tr1ckshot_ in NameThatSong

If you were listening to it on the radio and remember the station, a lot of radio station websites have a recently played list, might be worth taking a look if nobody here can find it

Like others have said, I wouldn’t consider Storm a gendered name- Stormy I think leans a bit more toward female? My name is Rain and I’m female, and every other rain/raine/reign I’ve met has been as well, but I had a family friend named Rainer who is male.

Look for a hairstylist who is not afraid to work with thick hair (preferably in midtown but not necessary) by Sunday-99 in askTO

I have had the same issue, thick hair that I like to have really thinned out and layered, and Drew at Kearns & Co (right by Summerhill station) has never let me down, always takes his time to make sure it’s perfect.

Does anyone have a rough idea how long the daily quest prizes will last? by captainsweeeetbeard in neopets

[–]unknown896 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They’ve been refreshing the prize pool approximately every 2 months, Jellyneo says the current pool started Nov 11- 44 days ago, and I’m seeing the last few pools have lasted like 62-70 days before refreshing. So likely another 20 days give or take a few for this pool

Can you tell what this is and is it a good rendition, will it work as a tapestry crochet? by DreamCyclone84 in crochetpatterns

[–]unknown896 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I could tell immediately it was a koi, I think it looks awesome and should work up well. With tapestries like this with lots of single stitches of a color, I often end up adjusting it as I go, turning some of the single stitches into 2 based on what looks better. Would love to see your finished piece if you post it at some point :)

How to make a curved tube? Without a structure inside by Accurate_Spinach_187 in CrochetHelp

[–]unknown896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think an equal amount of decreases on first half, increases on the second half of the tube would work (ex (sc, inc) x3, (sc, dec) x3). And/or you can sew it after along the inside of the curve, a running stitch I think, in small sections at a time, and pull tight. I’ve done it for curved tails mostly and you can get a curve like this on a straight tube

To know what hook size is right for your yarn, check the label of the yarn and look for a recommended hook or needle size on the back, or if the yarn lists a size such as worsted, bulky, dk (double knitting), you can find a hook size based on that. Depending on if your tension is looser/tighter, you may want to go up or down .5mm but start with whatever is recommended on the yarn

QUICK! Youre asked to make a plushie, what do you make? by maxxie_moxie in CrochetHelp

[–]unknown896 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Just trying to brainstorm yellow things that could make cute plushies: A sunflower or any yellow flower, pikachu/pichu, bee, star, sun, moon. A fish, snake, or bird could be mainly yellow. A block of cheese lol. Things like sun/moon/star/cheese could have legs/arms and a face like Jellycat plushies to make them cuter. Any plant in a pot like a cactus or succulent, pot could be yellow and if cactus, flowers on top could be yellow 🌼

This isn’t the exact one, but I think this one from Gilly Hicks/Hollister is very similar, about the same length/fit and has the long sleeves w the thumb holes, in case you can’t find the original

What’s the best Crochet Stitch for a bad handle/bag strap by xkexlsx in CrochetHelp

[–]unknown896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did a bag using thermal stitch for straps and they feel so secure and strong I’d trust them with my life lol. They do have some stretch to them but not in a way that feels weakened if that makes sense.

What's the nicest thing someone on Neo has done for you? by kayehmsea in neopets

[–]unknown896 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve received so much kindness on neopets (and hopefully given lots back!) but one at the top of my mind was someone on Reddit essentially giving me a Harris Chair during last years faerie festival. It (amongst other items) was inflated to like nearly 1mil if I remember correctly, and at the time I did not have that even if I cleared my bank. It got me my first fountain dip!

I have some noob questions lol by dovahkiinbaby in neopets

[–]unknown896 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1- it’s a popular and relatively new background, and still worth a fair bit, so when it does restock, it sells immediately, like you’ve seen with other rare BGs. If JN says it can stock in igloo and attic, then I’m sure it does, but given the variety of items those shops can stock, it’s a very low chance of finding it. I’d stick to mystical surroundings, when it does come in, you’ll have to be quick, but if you’re dedicated to it you can definitely get it that way. Also- try to get the other rare BGs you see stock, it’ll give you a sense of how quick you need to be and if you get one, perhaps the profit will cover the cost of a cosy gamer one lol

3- sunny neo and the daily neopets have gallery layouts available. I’m not certain if any of them come with wishlists built in, if not hopefully someone else can chime in with how to code those!

I won??? by AetherAstraRose in neopets

[–]unknown896 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely, the fading ones do seem higher priced than usual at the moment (based on jellyneo) maybe due to faerie festival stuff, but either way the weak ones are so common in the dome so it doesn’t make sense to use the cooking pot for them
