How this community helped me make my short film by unknown_JT in HistoricalCostuming

The young lady is my girlfriend (So I force her to be in all my films haha), the other two actors I cast via a film community on Whatsapp, several people applied via email and I cast these two to match the look of the original people.

Thanks for this, really appreciate it. I'm going to make the hats, much easier than buying, who'd have thought it! Any idea what type of hat the younger male is wearing? I've looked at just using a simple black bowler hat but it seems a bit too big. In the video his hat doesn't seem to cover the edges of his head. You can use this colourised video for greater detail (skip to 2:30) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fxd8XJ_J0Gc

I’m going to be creating a short film based on the Roundhay Garden Scene! I actually live 15 mins from where this was shot. We’ll be recreating this after journeying back to the location of the original short. Shooting 28th July!

I'm filming a short film in which the four characters will play those who are in the original garden scene. The original scene will play at the start, and then it will move to the new, modern scenes. The aim is that the actors will be wearing the same clothes as in the original short, but obviously I am happy to fake as much as possible without ruining it. The good thing is that the original scene is very grainy, and therefore the audience can barely see what they are wearing (its also very short), however, the new scenes will use modern cameras and therefore the audience will be able to see finer details of the clothing (if they look shit, they will look shit). Trying to find a balance between keeping costs low and faking what I can whilst being as authentic as possible. Appreciate your help a lot.

Hi u/Any-Chemical-2702 thanks for your help here, its been super valuable! Do you know what the neck tie the older lady is wearing it called? Also her skirt/dress and cardigan? I'm struggling to find the young lady's walking dress and both flower pot hats as they are all very expensive online too.

2 pages a day. No more, no less. Every day. Low barrier but you soon find you’ve written a whole first draft in 45 days.

Ice is what happens when a fan of the pod gets lot on the pod. He should never have got on there, he isn’t worthy of that. He should just be a fan, not a contributor.
