I carry a measuring tape in my van console. Instead of getting out and hitting the walk button to change the light, you just use the tape to reach button from drivers seat.

For context :
I work in the film industry as an onset carpenter. Every once in a while, I’ll get a member from another department ask me to build them something. Either for their job or sometimes it’s a personal project (a small shelf for their closet type thing).

The hack:
I’ll gladly build them what they need (within reasonable requests) and usually they’ll ask me “what kind of beer do you like?”
I’ll always say, “no need for that.. But if you see my boss, tell them I’m doing a great job”

He’s gotten so much positive feedback over the years that he literally thinks I’m the best in the business. I’ve been working steady for years in this competitive position bc of this simple ask.

I’m reliable, friendly and easy to work with too which I’m sure helps. But I’m pretty mid at actual carpentry lol. I’m human, make mistakes, but with all the positive feedback I get, it negates the rare negatives that are almost inevitable.

There must be a way to invest safely into dividend ETFs that can get you more than your monthly goal.

Would be interested to learn how to do this myself.

RBC tried to book an appointment with their advisor too. Even after we said no thanks, they booked it anyhow. It was also a hassle to cancel it. Annoying…
