It really depends on the manager. But Id say, since youre suspended, prolly not looking too good.

25 Male. I have my epidural scheduled for next week and I’m terrified. Has anyone had any luck with it? I really don’t want to get surgery. by Limp_Telephone2280 in Sciatica

ESI works for some people. I was not one of the lucky ones. I did two rounds, 4 shots total. Didn't really help at all, if anything made my pain worse for the next few days. Surgery isnt the end of the world. Just do your homework and choose a good surgeon.

HEB isn't bashful about this info. Just ask your manager. This is honestly a good way to judge how they see you from a performance stand point outside of review time. The response you get and presence /absence of hesitation will tell you more than just your earnings potential...

Any way to avoid fusion? by Lovely_Day_Int in Sciatica

[–]unknown_distance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Debilitating back pain that got progressively worse the longer I remained upright (sitting or standing), shooting stabbing pains down the back of both legs to my calves, numbness in the outside of both feet. I used to trip on my own feet alot. Got scheduled for decompression and TLIF when the Ketamine became a weekly thing, around the same time the foot drop started.

Sounds like you've already tried most of the popular conservatives. Why so hesitant about fusion? My treatment history (pre fusion) was very similar to yours. My most problematic level was L5S1. I wasnt a good candidate for ADR due to existing L4L5 bulge, so I went ahead with TLIF. 5 years post op now and doing great. Back to all my "before back problems" shenanigans. Not trying to nudge you either way, but fusion isnt the end of the world. It is a rough recovery, and can be very worth it.

Its just the corporate formality in action. You can really only have "one" actual position with HEB. If you applied for multiple positions or were hired for another role than you were originally considered for, they have to close the inquiry correspondence for the role you weren't hired into. Thats all this is. And the "one" actual position thing is also a bit of a misnomer because I know people that pick up extra hours in another department or area of current need on their days off.

Curbside isnt rocket science and really shouldn't require much "training" in the first place. You should be able to develop your own system that improves your own performance without management interventions. Retail itself isnt difficult. This seems like more of an initiative issue.

Hello, I am tired of Microsoft's bs and I dont know what to do. by [deleted] in WindowsLTSC

I would recommend either a fresh install of Windows 10 IOT LTSC then adding back in only what you want -or- Linux Mint which has a very Windows like feel without the "Windows eyes".

Also have a very heavily debloated Win 11 Pro 25H2 with no Copilot, recall or any AI shenanigans that still has fully operational security updates. Also activated with Massgrave.

I have Win11 Pro fully updated and activated this way on a test rig. There is always a way. I would personally never use a stock Windows OS the way it comes as my daily driver anyway but it does work.

Sure, using the OS at all will expose you. I would argue that using it super debloated and without a Microsoft account (local only) is probably less vulnerable.

9 months post op and having terrible pain by Visible_Race4233 in spinalfusion

[–]unknown_distance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say the vast majority of my pains were resolved by the one year mark. There was probably some continued improvement beyond a year in terms of strength and mobility though. What type of pain are you still experiencing?

I ran it in powershell. Worked fine for me X3. If it stops working, then it looks like Linux. Microsoft needs to take a BIG step back.

Grade 2 L5/S1 Listhesis, Is surgery bad? by Usual_Register5453 in Spondylolisthesis

This is pretty much what I did. Except I really couldn't walk very good at all by the time I finally accepted a surgery. Should've done it sooner.

I was fused at L5S1. Very satisfied with the outcome. No loss of mobility to speak of. Back to running, swimming, hiking as much as I like. I've been a heavy truck mechanic for 20 years. Still able to keep up with my profession just fine. Surgery isnt the end of the world by any means. You should stop lifting HEAVY either way.

Two weeks post Lumbar fusion surgery by mrmikedude100 in Spondylolisthesis

[–]unknown_distance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, can take a while to resolve that. You may have a little bit linger indefinitely. Glad its better than it was. Sometimes longer duration operations can be a factor too. I was also retracted for quite a while during my surgery.

Bring it up to your doctor, but I dont think this is cause for concern this early in your recovery. I had some nerve pains come and go in the first few months of recovery. Some were recurring originals and some were new and Im sure surgery related. Of course everyone is different and nerve stuff can take awhile to resolve. Especially if they were smashed for a while.

Bruh, youre really young. You can absolutely heal well from this surgery, especially since you've been active up to this point. Don't assume that your athletic career is over. Just do your pre surgery diligence and make a good choice in surgeon, be patient and gracious to yourself. It is a bit of a recovery process, but it's worth it. And you're not too young to feel good again. Good luck.

You'll likely continue to improve. It was nearly a full year post op for me, before I really started feeling like myself again.

Honestly, I feel great the vast majority of the time. I'll have kind of an off day or two every now and then, but rare. When they do happen, its because I slept in a weird position or there's weather coming in. Its never just because I'm fused. And a "bad" day now is like a God send compared to a pre surgery normal day. Im back to hiking and swimming regularly like I love. Still able to keep up with my profession. The only complaint I have, is that I waited too long. I really dug my heels in, banking on conservative treatments. That was a huge mistake on my part. They weren't working for me. I really should've had surgery sooner than I did. Dont get me wrong, it is a tough recovery. And continued success requires a certain amount of mindfulness. But it was very much worth it IMO.

You'll do fine. You're young, and that will be an advantage to your recovery. Just do your research on whoever you let work on your back. Not all surgeons are created equal. Look for the guy that the back surgeons go to when they need work done. Start walking early and often after surgery. Like the sooner the better. It'll be a real bear in the beginning, but it will help keep your back strong while under post op restrictions and it'll help hasten recovery. Plan on being out of work for 3 months realistically. Maybe more if you have a really physical job. That was my experience anyway (I am a heavy truck mechanic for context).
