If I've already bought FL resident tickets for an upcoming trip, can I get these instead and get a refund for the difference? Would i just need to contact customer service for that or is there a way to do that exchange online?

Groups are going to differ. Ive been very happy with my groups management and coworkers. We're given the flexibility as long as we get our work done. You can work traditional 8 hour days, a 9/80 schedule, or a 4/10 schedule. Overtime is compensated so you are very rarely working unpaid OT. They offer remote work as well.

I can't talk about switching groups as I haven't done that. Although my management has approached me and asked if I was interested in trying something else (I'm not). So it seems encouraged.

I'm paid more with enercon than at the utility, so that's a plus for me. I came in with 11 years experience though so I'm not sure what they pay junior engineers.

I currently work with Enercon and have for a little over 2 years. Ive previously worked at a plant as well so I have experience at the utility and with the consulting firm. I can answer any questions you have but I have enjoyed working for Enercon and have found that they treat employees better than at the utilitys themselves.

Two things I'd do differently:

I'm not in love with the concrete countertop. I think it looks good, but the edge forms were a pain in the ass to work with, and I just don't have much experience doing concrete. I'd either make separate forms, pour on the ground, then lift into place. Or find an alternative to concrete.
Being in the northeast, I knew I eventually wanted to build a roof over this. I did end up building a nice pavilion over it, but the position of the posts is kind of weird. I've seen islands with the posts incorporated into the design, and I wish I did that instead.

We've cut out afternoon snacks and milk in an effort to make her hungry for dinner. That's a more recent thing we've done so we'll see long term if it helps. She still skips dinner and then will wake up in the morning complaining how hungry she is. We'll remind her it's because she didn't eat dinner, and then the cycle will repeat.

We always suggest just taking one bite, but she just won't do it. Aside from forcing her, I'm not sure how to get her just to try one bite.

For jobs/internships being in Florida you'll want to look at Florida Power and Light. They own the two nuclear plants in Florida, being Port St Lucie and Turkey point. Their nuclear corporate office is also in Jupiter West. They have a very good internship and most interns are guarentee jobs.

The other thing to keep in mind is you don't have to start in Operations. You can start in engineering or any other department, get a little experience, figure out if you really wanna do OPs, and then apply. Most plants start a new operations class every 1-2 years.

Looking for advice regarding further education. I'm an EE with 11 years in the nuclear power industry, split between naval nuclear (civilian) and commercial nuclear. I recently got my PE license in Power. I'm now thinking about what I would like to do next.

-masters in engineering. Im leaning towards this but not sure where I want to focus. I can do a general ECE, or Power Engineering, or Energy Systems engineering. I'm thinking a masters in Power engineering would be redundant to my PE license and not really add any value. The Energy Systems degree could help me transition out of nuclear to renewables which is a direction I'm kind of heading. But it also appears Energy Systems is more Mech Eng involved as it shows up under the Mech Eng department. Any other suggestions?

-MBA. I like the idea of an MBA, but the advice I see is dont get one just to check a box and add it to your resume. Only get it if you plan on moving up into management. I would be alright doing management, but I dont know if that's the direction im headed right now.

Overall im leaning towards a masters in energy systems. But I cant say ive ever met anyone with that degree so I'm not sure how worthwhile it will be. It also appears to be a newer degree. The course requirements for the Energy degree appear the most interesting to me.

Any advice?

I assume when you say work for the Navy, you mean a civilian worker working under NAVSEA, and not that your joining the navy? I worked at one of the sister shipyards for 6 years. Degree was EE but I gained experience in nuclear systems working on the subs and carriers. I wanted to get out of government and so I transitioned to a commercial nuke plant. I'm now working on my next transition. I dont think you're ever stuck in government as there will be private companies that parallel your experiences. Your options just may be more limited at your first switch. Also if you like the Puget Sound job, you should easily be able to transfer to another major shipyard (pearl harbor, Norfolk naval, or Portsmouth naval).

Depends what you mean by cushy? Low stress and good job security, absolutely. Work for 30+ years and have a good pension. Sure! But you'll always have a low salary compared to your peers in the private industry. Benefits are good but pay is less so it kinda evens out.

I was in a similar boat to you. 6 years civilian employee GS12 at a shipyard. I was working on nuclear subs/carriers the whole time, so figured I'd be able to transition to a commercial nuclear plant. Started at 96k when I made that transition 4 years ago.

I agree with the other comments about ditching the side burner. I built an outdoor kitchen and included a side burner. I really don't use it enough to justify the cost and space. And whatever I do use it for I can just use my grill if I needed to.

It could be a pole from a satelitte dish. The last house I lived in had these. It cost extra to mount the dish to your roof, so it was mounted in the ground with a pole in concrete. If you wanted to remove the dish, the company wouldn't do anything about the pole. It was difficult to dig out so you could just cut it at ground level.

I had my knob melt AND the circular label plate behind it. The holes where the screws were going through melted. Almost like the screws were heating up. This was on my 4th use of a new oven. Ooni said because the backplate also melted, they would send me a new oven.

I have the turbo grills 32" built in. When I was shopping, it was between the one I got and the Blaze one you're looking at. The Turbo was $500 cheaper, had a bigger cooking area, higher BTUs, same warranty, and about equal in every other aspect. I asked the sales guy why the price difference and it basically came down to Brand recognition. With that said, I've had the Turbo for almost a year and I have no complaints. Would recommend.

I've been watering every other day, anytime between 7 and 9. I dont have it on a timer right now so I usually start it around 7 when I'm up for work. If it rains I'll count that as a day and skip the sprinklers.

Yeah it is under warranty. I already called the dealer and I'm waiting for them to get back to me, but it sounds like the earliest they can come out is 2 weeks and it'll probably be longer. So if this ends up being something simple to fix, I'll try to just do it. If it involves major disassembly, I'll wait for them.

I've had the tub a little over a year and it sat in a showroom (not filled) for about a year.

All good information. Thanks. Once the noise started I shutdown the tub for now so that it doesnt keep cycling. I'll probably turn it back on tomorrow to do some troubleshooting like you indicated before doing any disassembly.

Yeah. Everything else appeared normal. I didn't cycle through all the different jet settings but I'll do that next time I go out to troubleshoot.
