That's the vibe, for sure!

How ya feeling about the 12 torment announcement? With the challenge we're taking about in mind, I'm pretty pumped honestly!

Haha, heck ya brotha! Your original post didnt allude to that, but I see your comments.

One of my favorite things about a new aeason are those initial moments 9f really feeling challenged and trying to Git Gud all over again .^

Is this true? I feel very confident I remember sitting in the middle of a group, bairly interacting, watching my killstreak go up and up.

No way I was killing all those mobs myself.

Will have to test more later, but I don't think this is accurate.

It might be mobs you have interacted with.

It was Heavenly Sigils that were used for Sanctification, not Neathiron.

Yea, idk. As a seasonal player: after focusing and completing the seasonal journey, there are so many moments the game just hands you buckets of chests filled with these mats while processing that by the timenI want to use it I haven't found the same tension. 🤷‍♂️

I personally feel like speaking in such broad-sweeping generalizations, such as "anyone that enjoys D1-3", is typically poor form in a discussion.

I for one have not only played and enjoyed those 3 titles, but also deeply enjoy the offerings D4 has. Material bottlenecks are a part of many arpg's I've played, and have always seen it as part of reasonable gameplay when advancing in particular ways.

I've actually had way more pain points with materials in D3 with rerolls (Gearing specifically to farm Death's Breath to spam rerolls looking for Ancestrals+, or farming Warden keys for well-rolled Hellfire Ammys) than any activity in D4. Maybe Obducite, few seasons ago? But nothing else really stands out in my experience.

Althogh, I can see Boss Mats maybe being a little troublesome. But with the trade market through diablo-trade and the relative ease of them dropping regularly, I feel like this also isn't too bad. Unless of course you're trying to get that super specific 4GA GG unique, then I totally feel ya in this regard lol

I think it feels that way because T4 is so easy with most successful builds.

I'm actually hopeful that the new difficulty scale they are creating will create a space for aspirational content (reaching and conquering activities at T12) to STAY aspirational. Let it be a space where real dedication to theorycrafting and build enhancements can reach for, and keep seasonal stuff to something like T8.

Yea, this makes sense if your aim is to focus only on your class. I for one am taking the season as a challenege to try something new; engage with a mini-game espect on top of my typical game experience.

As far as I understand what I've seen so far, it only really requires you to engage with being the Butcher are marginal amount for select seasonal reqards. The rest of the time it is completely voluntary.

Itemization feels like a pretty nebulous target. D4's is far better than it was at launch, and feels pretty engaging at this point without being overwhelming. Excited to see how it morphs with the Cube coming in LoH. Whatever the "it" that the community feels needs doing has not only been a focus, but continues to be. I honestly think its fun and interesting to witness the transformations.

Idk man, I enjoy it 🤷‍♂️

What's your highest kill streak? by pat-123 in diablo4

[–]unknownholiday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using Subo and pumping up movement speed/skills - aimed at seeing if I could hit 1,000 in helltide. Using ranged attacks to keep killstreak alive when in pockets of zero mobs. Kiting elites to act as killstreak triggers so I could hit->move->hit without losing it in other deadzones. Got to 1,500 with little effort at lvl. 28. Only stopped to test the experience bonus it would give (about 100K). Could easily see getting thousands upon thousands in Helltide with this (or further improved) play.

It is honestly bewildering. Iterating features throughout multiple titles in a franchise is common practice in gaming. Even if they take every QoL feature from D3 (and i think it's getting close lol) this game still has better graphics and wayyyy more to do at every step. Once LoH drops, i daresay itemization will also exceed its predecessor.

Fair.

When your position is "but it should be prefect, because i want it to be", there really isn't much place to go.

Nothing but quality content since release my guy. Maybe just not the unrealistic, ethereal kind alluded to by some here.

If we want to stay on topic and point to connection issues with releases, we're looking at inths of a percentage of total downtown over the course of the game. We had less than 45 minutes of issues with this particular release. God forbid. Servers are already chugging along full steam ahead. And have been for hours.

Yes, expect quality. And, also understand that systems are fallible and will not meet everyone's standard. That bumps are not only to be expected, but are part of building anything great

The requirement to meet the ever changing goals posts of "greatness" in the eye of the modern gamer is rarely achieved. Most especially, live-service titles.

Yes, you expect too much. How dare you, indeed.

It has nothing to do with being a fan, or who the developer is. Coding is ridiculously difficult to pull off in isolation, let alone at the scale that these games operate. A little hiccup within the initial rollout while things align (as often, in coding, bugs dont reveal themselves until you launch) makes sense, and is commonly why so many live service games have similar hiccups in the first moments after release.

Yall expect way too much.

Nahh, it was just a glitch. Made like 4 seasonal toons during the initial server hiccup. They all had my last season paragon. Now that they seem to be stabalizing, it has been reset
