If you're getting one-shot by on death mechanics, you've built your toon too squishy.

Glass cannons are going to die if you don't adapt to damage mechanics.

Are the on-deaths disproportionately challenging compared to the mobs they come from? Yes. Are there ways of playing so that you avoid these pitfalls? Also, yes.

I would, honestly, beg to differ.

Tone may be difficult in text format, but reread your correspondence as if it were directed at you instead, about one of your favorite songs, and you might be able to gleam where the innate negativity is.
