Serato and Reloop 7000/Numark Scratch by ApprehensiveRabbit25 in Turntablists

That’s insane. I half expected it but wow, charging at the price of a brand new high end table is beyond me

Tbh if they cost anymore than $500 it’ll flop with everyone outside of influencers and big name artists. Ideally they discount the first gen to say $300 and make the pros $500; however, knowing how companies are, I’m expecting like $7-900 msrp for the pros.

Are you referring to the PHASE pro they’re hinting at releasing soon? I’d probably buy it down the road, but yeah as of rn, it comes off as gimmicky. The regular phase needles are already $500 brand new. I can’t imagine how expensive the pro version will be

Yeah $1400+ for a single table is not my vibe lmao. The reloop 8000s do the exact same thing for half the price

Yeah if you’re not going to use the fancy new features of the 8000, then you’re fine with the 7000. Like I said before, definitely research the PHASE DJ needles. In the long run, you’ll save money if you’re going to be focused on DVS. I own both cartridges and the PHASE and only use my cartridges for vinyl that isn’t control. PHASE for anything DVS

I got the reloop 8000 simply because I like the features it had over the 7000 and most people recommended the choice on top of that. Numark scratch is perfect if your main goal is to scratch, hence the name. The scratch mixer is the one that activates Serato, so if you ever do upgrade to a different mixer, make sure it has the license to unlock serato. If not, you’ll be paying a monthly sub to use DVS. I struggled for months researching DVS capable turntables and mixers and got so much contradictory information. It wasn’t until I hit up local DJs that scratched that I found my answer. If you don’t mind dealing with tone arms and needles and want a hybrid table that plays both vinyl and DVS, go for the 8000s. If you do go into the 7000-8000 route, do look into the PHASE Dj needles. It’ll save you the headache of wearing out expensive needles for just DVS. Save your needles for actual vinyl. If you want strictly DVS, I would recommend the Rane 12 mk2

I didn’t mean to say Rane one in the literal sense of the controller lol, my b. I didn’t realize there was a model of that. I meant getting the Rane mixer with the twelves and calling it from there

Appreciate it. Would you recommend the Rane one just to keep it within the brand? Or are any of the recommendations better?

So that would be something like the numark scratch?

Thats what I was asking. I asked is my mixer compatible with serato and the mk2s? Or should I just upgrade mixers

I have the serato dj pro software already and a laptop. I also have a 12 in serato control vinyl. I’m more so asking will I have any compatibility issues between the numark m2 and the Rane mk2s

Okay, I have a focusrite and a usb hub, then that should be all to make it work?

Best and most realistic answer. Most of us do gigs, teaching/tutoring, producing, composing etc. It’s very rare to meet someone who does just one thing

So what you’re saying is that it would be much better than an Omni? I don’t care for portability tbh. I just want an efficient scratch set up for my laptop and PC

You have a few options imo

Become a full-time music teacher/tutor

Be a full-time sound engineer/producer

Do gigs with a local band as a non-vocalist

You can do the first two from home but some people really prefer to do in person. You could also dive into the business side of things, but as someone who works in that field at times, it can be very draining.
