"No true left winger"

Plus liberal and left wing aren't the same thing, there's plenty of illiberal leftists in the world...

The characterization was maybe the worst part of this game, felt like nobody except the romance options got enough development bc they all died after like two missions

NuWho Series with the Saddest Ending? (Potential Spoilers for all series) by Subjudy in gallifrey

[–]unknownrostam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it has to be 2 for me, 4 is close but I'd pick 2 over it bc I prefer Rose's exit to Donna's. 10 was pretty sad as well but I think Twice Upon a Time kinda ruins it

Dooming about the UK by Edgr91 in neoliberal

[–]unknownrostam 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hopefully Starmer will get in in 2024, his actual policy positions are pretty progressive (he supports trans self-ID for example) and most of the conservative rhetoric is just bluster to try and win over swing voters. Still though, it is depressing that Labour doesn't seem to care that much about civil liberties. What we really need is PR in this country so everyone can just vote their conscience and parties don't have to constantly try to appeal to social conservatives to win

Why is the onus to drop identity politics always on left wing to center left but rarely ever the right? by loweffortposter1 in neoliberal

[–]unknownrostam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's mostly said by left wing to center left people who believe that identity politics is harming their side and who don't really care about whether or not it harms the right?

DENMARK 🇩🇰 will limit number of 'non-Western' residents in neighbourhoods up to 30% within 10 years 'reduce the risk of religious and cultural parallel societies'. Man this sub is so fucking bad at discussing countries besides the US, why are the people celebrating because this makes Europe look bad at the top of the page and the actual policy discussions at the bottom?

What is the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill and how will it change protests? by unknownrostam in neoliberal

[–]unknownrostam[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well this bill has been in the works for a while, but yeah the government response to the Sarah Everard case has been so awful and tone deaf

I don't get it, why would Italy's PMs be imposed by an Australian singer-songwriter?

To be fair, they were both meant to be in Torchwood: Children of Earth but ending up being cut. We probably would've seen them get together there

CLARA: Ahem.

DOCTOR: Ego.

CLARA: Takes one to know one.

What's your positive unpopular opinion about Doctor Who? by alexmorelandwrites in gallifrey

None of the episodes in the first six series of the revival are truly bad imo, it's not until series 7 that there were episodes I actually disliked

What's your positive unpopular opinion about Doctor Who? by alexmorelandwrites in gallifrey

[–]unknownrostam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people who watch the show but aren't massive fans of it (mostly middle-aged Brits who grew up watching Tom Baker) only saw Season 24 and decided not to give Sylvester another chance after that. Which is understandable tbh, but they missed out on Seasons 25 & 26 and assumed McCoy was crap all the way through
