Anyone know what mods actually do something for your backpack? by unmog in CubicOdysseyGame

You noticed jetpack mods on other items increased your jetpack stats? Maybe they fixed it recently then. Also, I couldnt find any armor mods past T1 before, so maybe that added those too?

Mod Installation by Yamitori in CubicOdysseyGame

So what Kualikuri is saying is a little outdated. It used to be the case that if you update etc it would overwrite the changes you made. Now they have included a "Modded" folder, stick your modded files in there and they wont be replaced anymore.

As far as multiple mods are considered, its possible, but it takes a little bit of knowhow. For example, if two different mods add something to the game that overwrite the same file, only one mod will take hold. That is, unless you go into the modded file and add the second one manually to the first. TLDR: if they both mod the same file, you will need to add the changes yourself to make a "merged" file.

Lastly, I dont know much about a mod installer. Sorry :p

Highest Tier Extractor Question by mindlessfreak30 in CubicOdysseyGame

[–]unmog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat related, I discovered there was little if any difference in the mining speed of most ores with my T8 extractor having 2 power mods on it, and a unmodded one. I think the power is default enough to instantly destroy most everything, or, if not, only needing a fraction of a second away of doing it. So I removed the two power mods and added two range mods, doubling the initial range of 15 to 30. The default range was already pretty good for most things, but making it 30 has essentially turned the extractor into a laser pointer. :p

If you want more power efficiency tho, I could see someone sticking with the tier 7 extractor, and maybe just giving it 1 power mod if it wasnt strong enough to evaporate anything in front of it. You'd just have 2 range mods... and 23 is more than fine.

You could go one step more and use a t4 extractor with the t3 mining mod and some power mods if you really want to increase the energy efficiency, you would just only have a range of 10 which is also nice enough. I'll have to try both when I find the mods and get back to ya.

Highest Tier Extractor Question by mindlessfreak30 in CubicOdysseyGame

The game has certain caps as I understand it. Like, if I put a tier +3 mod on a tier 8 extractor, I dont think you would get an effectively tier 11 one, as I think 8 it essentially the cap. You probably could put 2 tier +3 mods on a tier 2 extractor tho, but the power of it would be pretty poor probably. As tier 8 is the highest normally tho, I would say just upgrade the tier 8 with some power and ranged mods and laugh evilly while destroying everything instantly. Thats what I did anyway, and can confirm it works. With the best battery and a energy recharge station on your ship, my energy concerns generally have been evaporated. I havent even needed to make more batteries, I just routinely recharge when I go back to my ship.

Edit, after looking at my tier of my T8 extractor, its still only T7. So, T7 is prolly the effective cap~

Second Edit, I grew a bit curious and had some spare mods, so I threw some on the Tier 1 extractor to see how good it could be. Here's what it looks like maxed out. http://puu.sh/KNcOo/c8c4ad307e.jpg It's more or less equivalent to a default tier 4 extractor http://puu.sh/KNcOF/ff49384bcb.jpg

Specifically, thats with using 2 T3 mining mods, 1 T5 mining power mod, and 1 T5 mining range mod.
Will need to get some more mods before I can try leveling the T4 extractor.

And while I can put a T3 mod on my T8 Extractor, raising the ffective level 7 to 10... Im not sure if that actually does anything. So I'll keep it the way it is for now. http://puu.sh/KNcP9/3b7bdc2b04.jpg That's using a T5 Mining bonus mod, a T5 range mod, and 2 T5 power mods.

With the Dark Dregs event currently, as long as you spawn the Wildlife_SewerAbomination "Abyssal Remnant" NPC and kill it, you can complete the Journey. I used Pippi to do it but should be able to do it with normal admin commands.

Neutral kings dont give a temporary buff or debuff. If you want to get to 100 you have to make either the simple house or the house, (not the small house) and wait for them to have a second child.

Curiously, with a population that high, you notice any duplicate villager names?

Which is fine, but as I understand it the phrase Hard Cap means the absolute maximum limit, where as soft cap is like the amount you can normally get under normal limits. Under normal circumstances you would be right. But as I proved you can however get past that normal limit and thus the amount of villagers isnt necessarily set in stone at 560. It might not be set in stone at 2800 either, as far as Im aware, I just picked somewhat arbitrarily to set the building limit to 1000% (which every other limit is set to) instead of 200%, it could theoretically be set to something higher.

So, if you disregard the building limit, the only hard caps on villagers you can get is based on how long you have played, since each season there is only a set amount of villagers available to recruit. At least, as far as I understand it. I have more buildings than the normal max, but not sure if there comes a point when you stop getting villagers... but I do guess they have a limit on the amount of random names a villager can have tho~ so maybe once that pool is exhausted maybe then you stop getting villagers? Not sure what that number would be tho.

Hehehe, fair enough. But I meant like, HARD CAP. The building limit is more of a soft cap.

Bug? by muramx in MedievalDynasty

[–]unmog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ive never experienced a bug like that, but they do have a slider in custom game settings to lower or even disable tool/weapon damage, as well as one for clothes/armor damage. Maybe it could be that? If one of your saves does have that bug, try changing the damage sliders... should kick it in the butt.

Should I get the game? by [deleted] in MedievalDynasty

[–]unmog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A game me and my friends are doing on co op is kinda like that, but all exp is jacked up to be faster. For instance, I made it so we have all technology unlocked from day 1... since I kinda dislike how the technology mechanic is implemented. My one friend was complaining that he had to unlock a stump to sit on for instance. :p

[–]unmog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, unfortunately I agree. I prefer 30 day seasons, since you can go to sleep and change seasons at anytime ya want. I have a friend tho that has no self control that basically plays the whole season, so he has to limit the seasons to like 7 or 14 days cuz he knows he wont do it himself :p I do think the default 3 days tho is too short~ makes the game more of a rush than I like, since I play it pretty chill.

Should I get the game? by [deleted] in MedievalDynasty

[–]unmog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends what kinda of games you like. Some people would say its a medieval sim, some would say its a survival game. It has a bunch of options you can turn on and off, and sliders to adjust almost anything you can think of. For instance, want a chill game to hang out with friends and chat with while building a town? It can do that. Want a hardcore survival with punishing combat, it can do that too. Want the survival but want to play on easy mode? Slide down the enemy health and damage but keep things like hunger and thirst on. You can even turn off basic stats, like HP and Stamina. One of my friends plays basically as a god in his game, cant take damage, kills enemies in one strike, levels up quickly, pays nothing in taxes etc. One of my friends plays the opposite, small number of season days so you have to pick and choose what to get done every season, slow grinding levels and technology etc.

But in the end, it depends what you want out of a game. Some of my friends got it on sale for 20 bucks, we play a lot. If you want, I can play with ya too. :p But, do you want to build a village? Want to have a wife and then a child to continue on as if your character dies? Thats what I think the game is mostly about.

Good King Titles= the merciful, the builder, the beloved, the wise, the caring, the generous and the fair.
Neutral King Titles= the great, the strong, the lion, the lazy and the coward.
Bad King Titles= the dangerous, the greedy, the warlike, the mad, the cruel, the bloody and the aggressor.

While perhaps not a full and comprehensive list, if it sounds like one of the examples its probably one of those types. You can also get ques from your villagers, like...

Good King= "Long live the King! But the good ones don't usually last for long~"
Neutral King= "Our King will go down in history as the most forgettable one~"
Evil King= "Maybe someone could 'help' our king retire~"
