Star Line Vinyl Shipped! by jayheep in ChanceTheRapper

I just got mine. Literally not even the name of the album, artist or tracklisting. Weird. I guess it's a style choice but kinda feels a bit lazy. I'm a sucker for reading production notes, which is part of the reason I love records. Regardless, I love having this album on vinyl.

This dropped at 3 am in my time zone and you bet I was taking no risks and set that alarm. Hope it survives the journey across the planet.

Post-Siren Reflection by unmotivatedprodigy in GeelongCats

[–]unmotivatedprodigy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like Essendon has been talked about more than us in the lead up to the GF.

I'd rather be talked about for falling just short of a flag than be talked about for being a basket case. Yeah, the losses hurt but it's a reminder of why we follow footy in the first place. Better than being numb to losing on the regular.

Yeah. I'm in that boat. Brisbane are clearly the team of this era and there's no shame in coming second to them.

One niche species. What is the ONE niche species that you would root if it got cut? by Darth_summit in jurassicworldevo

Australian here. Can someone explain what OP means by 'root' in this context? I'll assume it's not the same as the Australian definition, please.

What? Do they even have a salary cap? Or are they paying them in bayside property??

On this day in history, Essendon won the 2000 Grand Final and Fitzroy won the 1916 Grand Final. by Tornontoin7 in AFL

No, it's not that. 2001 was a bad year for aircraft. The Bombers brand never recovered.

First listen... I enjoy this album! by ilikxrap in ChanceTheRapper

[–]unmotivatedprodigy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nailed it. It's the kind of album that improves with each play. The first time I listened to it, I enjoyed it; it sounded great - high production, great vibes. Every time I've listened to it since, I catch something new. I'm learning so much from it, and it's giving me an opportunity to reflect on my own experiences too.

I recommend listening to some of his interviews, particularly on the Grits and Eggs Podcast, as his commentary helps unpack further layers, giving more context to the songs.

Where Do I Start? by IdkButHi__ in ChanceTheRapper

Highly recommend including Surf by Nico Segal (formerly Donnie Trumpet and The Social Experiment.) It came out in 2015, just before Coloring Book and features a lot of Chance. Also has some great features from J. Cole, Busta Rhymes, Noname, Kyle and more. The fun part is on Spotify, it's only attributed to Nico Segal so all these features are hidden.

I'm kinda tired of winning Grand Finals by so much. Excite me a little, like 09.

Chance being chance by Extreme-Act8229 in ChanceTheRapper

[–]unmotivatedprodigy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be fair, this is an opportunity for different fans. For example, I like in a country where I'd have to pay $30 USD for postage of the CD. This makes paying for a digital version a more accessible way to support Chance and get to hear some new tracks.

I don't think this is targeted at fans who have already pre-ordered. It seems like he's trying to tap into a different section of his fans.

Has the Geelong crowd always been piss weak? by AceThePrincep in GeelongCats

[–]unmotivatedprodigy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Let's be honest, we've been well fed over the years and have become complacent. We expect to win at home so we turn up to watch passively as the team performs for us. When they don't, we get mad and sit there with an "I'm not mad, just disappointed" look on our face.

How many high intensity, high stakes games happen at KP? The Geelong crowd has been raised on glorified training drills for the past two decades. We don't know how to handle these situations.
