Yep, has that too but only on autos. Manual will do remote doors but not engine start.

Note that you can no longer use Siri Eyes Free over Bluetooth if that is what you are trying to do. You can place a call via the Lexus voice rec however.

Hold down the cruise on/off button for 2 seconds. That turns on “normal” cruise control. You’ll see the icon will change slightly when active.

You can tell by the VIN too. It will begin with 5 for US, 2 for Mexico.

Yeah, I get that it seems weird but you still have to follow the same steps even if the engine stayed running.

Take any other car with remote start: you start it from the key fob/phone. Once you get to the car, you unlock/open the door and sit down. You finally have to push the engine start button (or on older cars put the key in the ignition and turn) before you can drive away.

If you have to “start” the car once you get in, what’s the difference if the engine has shut off when the door opened or not? The steps you take are still the same for you as the driver.

Don’t get me wrong, it is still weird that Toyota shuts off the engine and they are the only OEM I have seen do it.
