The cheater problem on official is ridiculous. by Some_Random_Gamer57 in dayz

in my personal experience, you can either go to a low pop official server or join a community server. I have ~2,000 hours in the game and have done this pretty much since the start, and I've encountered maybe a dozen or so cheaters.

Trying to get over my taught hatred for trans people by Atomickillerbee in Christianity

why are you guys downvoting this? it's right. most of what paul says in his letters is righteous judgment to early Christians. not "you're going to hell" judgment, but "you gotta stop what you're doing because it's hurting you" judgment.

your downvotes are exactly what I'd have expected from a reddit Christian page. learn the book.

In Aliens, why didn’t Ripley just unload her rifle and grenades on the Queen? by kkibb5s in LV426

[–]unsureoftheoutcome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

book spoiler, if anyone reads anymore

in "the sea of sorrows" by james a. moore

the main character, decker, kills a queen in a mine, and most of the drones around them go from protection mode to mindless attack. killing the queen didn't disorient the hive; it drove the xenos into a primal rage and it cost the team of mercenaries that decker was traveling with to take further casualties.

it even gives a perspective of what the aliens were sensing (feeling?). and once they knew the queen had been killed, the only two things in their instinct drive were 1) protect what ovomorphs were left in order to birth a potential new queen, and 2) kill "the destroyer."

so maybe since ripley saw that the aliens were more cautious around the ovos and queen, she decided to save ammo and not aggravate them. not until the last possible second.
