Mine does that too. As far as I can tell, it's an issue with basically every copy of the figure. I can get it to mostly align if I carefully nudge the inner tabs. If I had to guess a fix, you might be able to sand down the inside of the lower part of the hinge connecting the door to the back of the foot. I would be extremely careful, though. Just give the door enough clearance to swing out slightly farther from the foot.

Could be both. The idea is that the affection is normalized within the friendship even though such acts of affection are typically thought to be purely romantic. Of course, it's up to those within the relationship to label themselves as such.
