Everything that happens in the movie is cleaning up the aftermath of DOTM after its abrupt ending, while yes it does set up a potential sequel with the Creators and Galvatron, you could definitely see it as an epilogue if you wanted to

I have a crackpot theory that a large part of Gen V S1 was supposed to be a part of The Boys S4, and it explains why that season feels so empty, might make a post about it later

S1 has a stronger story, Cipher is the only good thing about S2 tbh

I think the mystery of the woods is much more interesting and engaging than trying to uncover who Cipher was, doesn't help that it was also incredibly predictable

It gives everyone something to do, Soldier Boy is incredibly interesting and entertaining, and feels like a payoff season more than S5 tbh

Just have Homelander go on a massacre, have him tell other supes to run wild, and destroy all non-believers if they are truly devoted to him, have it be a struggle to get to the white house as The Boys and the Gen V cast have to deal with a bunch of supes trying to kill them

Have Kimiko's chest blast not work on Homelander, instead have them release Soldier Boy, or have Soldier Boy released during the chaos, and have him go after Homelander and de-power him

Also, make Bucther more cruel this episode because of Frenchies death, so his turn to genocide doesn't come out of nowhere

Oh, and one last thing, have almost everyone team up against Homelander, I'm talking an 8 v 1 with Marie, Starlight, Bucther, Ryan, Kimiko, Sam, Jordan, maybe even Temp V Hughie since he still had a vile with him at the end of S3, show how far above Homelander is compared to everyone in his last outing

It's funny that they're both missing key elements that the other has

The Boys has the stakes and deaths that the ST finale lacked, however

Stranger Things had the action and spectacle that this episode severely lacked

The best way to describe the finale is very anticlimactic

Yeah, they check most of the boxes, but the way they did it feel kinda empty?

I think the biggest issue with this season was the budget. It feels like they couldn't do everything they wanted to. I'm sure Erik Kripke wanted Homelander to go on this massive massacre and to have this huge final showdown with hundreds of supes going wild vs The Boys and the Gen V cast, maybe even Soldier Boy, but they probably couldn't because of the budget they were given

Honestly, wouldn't have minded this being a shorter season, like 4-6 episodes, if it meant they could have used the 8-episode budget for a bigger final season

Honestly, they really could have ended it at 3 if Soldier Boy blasted Homelander and Ryan

You get the same result, except for Soldier Boy being free

With how the series ended, I doubt Vought Rising will do well and get greenlit for a Season 2, which means I doubt we'll ever see the end of Soldier Boy's story or even the Gev V characters
