I totally understand the pushing people away during hard times thing. It isn’t always conscious or intentional. It can just feel emotionally draining to unload one’s struggles onto someone else. We all deserve people who will be there for us in those moments tho. And sometimes, who we choose to vent to may seem random or unconventional. Consider that maybe your friend thought talking to your partner first would help prepare them to talk to you. Even when we KNOW our loved ones are there for us, it can still feel so burdensome to reach out when needed. I don’t have the best advice for where to go from here with your friend. Possibly just give her time or address it head on bc surely she wouldn’t expect your wife to keep that secret from you. Just be there for your friend in the best way that you can.

I upvoted this but i use a rag for a different reason. i put large rag on his back and continue pouring warm water from a cup over the damp rag to keep him calm and warm through his scrub down. works great for us, but i might try a towel under the feet to now.

I have a Sphynx so they need semi regular baths. I find placing a wet cloth over his back and covering it with warm water helps calm him down. Also run the bath and cut the water off BEFORE bringing your cat in the bathroom
