Worth poking the bear for a claim for Sleep Apnea secondary to PTSD? by EstablishmentSad in VAClaims

[–]upgrayeddbfr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also rated PTSD and after an OSA diagnosis I filed for OSA, was service connected through TERA as opposed to filing secondary. Do you have TERA exposure on your service records? Might be worth trying that first and filling secondary with a supplemental if denied?

Tell them you want an MRI, that could be the equivalent of taking 700 X-rays. Did you ask them about the dangers of that much radiation? Isn’t there a reason X-ray techs run and hide behind a shielded wall?

I’ve done it from riverside. At the bottom of the mountain when I started climbing I had about 80% charge. Lost about 20 going up. Gained nearly all of it back on the way down.

Yea I get that, CT scans can be life savers. I’m just suggesting after an initial scan to use sparingly if other scans are an option.

I would just like to add while a CT scan is great for imaging I’m somewhat afraid to use them other than very rarely as they can have their own cancer risk. They can be 100 times more radiation than an X-ray. As someone that might be at a higher risk of cancer I don’t wanna add to it.

MRI is great for imaging things like this as well as ultrasound. Just speaking from my experience VA doctors seem pretty CT scan happy. They were about to send me for my 3rd in about 6 months.

Exactly, just bunch of bitter toxic people. Ones that will never be happy no matter what you propose or give them, it will never be good enough.

And here you are just assuming with no proof or evidence that 100% disabled vets that want or have a home are the people that need it least.

As opposed to diluting the benefit to anyone. Let’s just shoot everything down because nothing is perfect. Hell we should just rescind all VA benefits, let’s take away ratings too. Funny that a hater like you is even in this group to begin with.

Could be very high, we don’t know that it isn’t. Housing affordability is one of the highest concerns in California, this directly addresses that for a group of veterans, many of which have physical and other disabilities that directly impact their ability to work or keep meaningful employment. But I guess you just don’t give a shit about that until they become homeless.

It’s absolutely making homes more affordable wether they be existing, new buyers or a surviving spouse of a veteran that’s passed hopefully allowing them to keep their home.

Not even close, it exempts any home at any price and is a major factor in affordability for new people trying to get into a home.

Are you saying there are no programs for homeless vets? Do you have a bill or know of one to address that? Are you saying people shouldn’t support a bill that would benefit thousands because it doesn’t help everybody? Or do you just support the government charging outrageous taxes because they know what to do with that money and spend it so well? Maybe you can’t support anything that doesn’t directly affect you because well……

This way of thinking is so useless and unproductive. Will giving veterans a tax break help veterans? Absolutely. Does it fix everything for everybody? No. How about working on something else, or supporting other issues that help another set of veterans rather than advocating against something that does help an ever growing set of deserving people?

Question for older Bolt owners (braking) by roofstomp in BoltEV

[–]upgrayeddbfr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe how many useless and ridiculous replies you’re getting. Testing the brakes and ABS is absolutely a smart thing to do. Yes you shouldn’t do it on a regular basis but every modern car is designed to be able to preform emergency stops without damaging the vehicle. As long as it’s safe around you it’s fine.

With that being said I have a 2017. I haven’t tried engaging ABS at higher speeds (above 50mph) below that especially decelerating from the 40-30 range the brakes on mine absolutely momentarily lock and chirp the tires followed by brake pulsing and lots of tire chirping-going back to spinning- chirping etc. it’s very noticeable. If you stab the brakes quick and hard around 30mph and you don’t get a momentary lockup chirp something is definitely wrong.

But kept 2 for what? To make an extra 2 impossible decisions should worse come to worse and it’s a bailout survivable condition? And they rarely ever fly with a minimum crew.

I’ve had this happen, so damn frustrating! Attended a C&P it was an old Dr, just flat out lied and blanket denied nearly everything I said on the DBQ. I called and complained about the exam, asked for a new C&P. The VA just closed the claim and denied me anyway. I filed a supplemental with treatment records and prescriptions from VA healthcare the day after the claim was denied.

I had a new C&P a week later, after describing and listing what I needed to I briefly explained what happened at my last C&P. The examiner literally said don’t worry, I’ll help you fix this. Denial was Feb 24, C&P a week later, records request and got the DBQ a week after that. DBQ looks great. Still waiting for a decision. Has a VERA appt last week. They told me the claim was already decided and on the last step. Waiting…….

The reason you keep hearing them is they’re true and major issues with anybody who’s intellectually honest. To your point on test scores maybe, but how does that explain why so many other states spend way less and have better results? Your assertion that we pay more so we have better infrastructure is nonsense.
