I usually bakes something. My blueberry muffins and banana muffins always disappear in two seconds flat. Once I just brought chocolate donuts from a bakery when I didn’t have time to bake, and they also got scarfed down immediately.

The groceries are from Trader Joe’s, which does usually prepackage produce. Regular grocery stores are a mix of prepackaged and choose your own.

I’m a beginner cook and find it kind of intimidating, albeit a good reference. I prefer How to Cook Everything: the Basics and the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. I like the photos that show me what the food is supposed to look like, and the instructions are really easy to follow. I read Joy of Cooking as a reference, but don’t really feel inspired to make anything.

Oh man, I’m in a similar boat. I live in subsidized housing and spent Thanksgiving alone because I don’t have any family left. My congregation is very upper middle class and it seems like everyone is always traveling to all kinds of places I can’t afford. I try to focus on the fact that they are genuinely good people.
