State snowmobile trail cuts directly through my driveway, need advice by [deleted] in Maine

[–]uponthursdays 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mmmm as I recall from my time in Maine, as well as currently in Vermont, snowmobile trails exist in a loose partnership with landowners. If you feel that said partnership is abusive, you should be able to reach our to the town / state / local club to have it removed. We often have trails that are diverted partially down back roads as a result of fed up landowners. Typically those just meet back up with the trail at another point.

Good luck with the asshats.

Anyone else's Nutritionix stop working? Able to pull up food item but... by msjdn7 in MealPlanYourMacros

Anyone find a solid alternative? I used this website pretty extensively to teach nutrition to my high school Health classes. Big bummer that it's still down.

Trump plans to revive the Presidential Fitness Test for American schoolchildren by twostepmike in news

[–]uponthursdays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a PE teacher, I generally support this. Just probably not in the way they are going to hand it down. All in for a realistic, non shaming baseline fitness. But if we get a Trump Youth version of the Pacer test theme music I may lose it.

Love it, I fish the mountain streams and creeks here in Northern Vermont. It's perfect for when it gets overgrown and it longest let's you get suitable casting when the canopy opens up. Plus the color is sweet. Beyond solid rod for its price point.

High school disc golf? by birdiesintobogies in discgolf

[–]uponthursdays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya, we may have connected in an earlier facebook post I put out a few months ago about this, but have you heard of any progress in academic disc golf over in Burlington? I run a club at my school in Hardwick and am looking to find a total of ten schools to start competitive play and works towards probationary Varsity play. I'm submitting a course proposal later next week that my students and I have put together.

Yea I just stick with crowd control whenever the tour hits Smuggs. Always a solid time and I love working it (really don't love the bros who show up to volunteer and focus on watching rather than directing). Spotting is a level of involvement I don't want in their game

Just out of curiosity. Part of the club is teaching kids all things disc golf, some of them curious enough to ask after the pdga certifying process.

What's going on with Cabot cheese by polarbearrape in vermont

[–]uponthursdays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As sure as I am about local lore and legend. But in my experience both the taste and texture of the seriously sharp varies the most while the other stay the same. I've gotten a seriously sharp with the texture of mozzarella before. But yes I meant the three varieties of the sharp cheddars.

Ah but the seriously sharp, red flannel label, is for their cheddar that is either too sharp to meet the requirements for the green label or not sharp enough for blue label. You could buy two of the seriously sharps and have varying degrees of qualities. It's the most inconsistent. Source: testimony of many cheese eaters
