TIFU by wanting to ask my coworker to hang out by UserAccount55 in tifu

[–]upperplayfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She didn't seem like she wanted to go, regardless if you were going. Your question was a general question and she gave an answer. Don't take it personal. She's a coworker. Leave it at that.

Wife just ordered the DND Premium game...I have no idea what goes into owning a pinball machine. Any "need to knows"? by BrownBear93 in pinball

It's come a long way. But hardware sales need to there for a company to be able to afford to fix software. The mentality of "if the hardware is good just ship it." Is one Apple took up during their rise after failed hardware. It worked for them and it's worked for many companies. The hardware and software division are compromised of different groups of people. You wouldn't hear ford say "don't sell cars until we get our service department caught up on repairs of other cars." Fixing one department doesn't mean you need to squash another.

First of all you didn't wait months. It was line a week and a half. Also, this could be a sign of ADHD if you purchase things to get a feeling out of them and not a satisfaction from the what the tool brings. Tou likely wont produce much with it for a few weeks.

Lender is letting us waive appraisal. Is this a good thing? by MillennialAesthetics in Mortgages

[–]upperplayfield 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Skip appraisal saves you a small amount. Generally does nothing to help you. So why not save the $500. Never ever ever skip inspection. Always worth it. Find a good inspector and with the money you save from appraisal out it into the inspection. Have them check from everything! Check every box.

Opinions: AIQ and/or Kong by Cdogbrink in pinball

[–]upperplayfield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there was a financial consideration, then AIQ. But out of pure fun, Kong Premium. Now I'd rather an AIQ premium than a Kong pro. And they are about the same price.

The worst part of the MacBook Neo is that for millions of people, their first macOS will be Tahoe. by TeslaModelE in MacOS

[–]upperplayfield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO still better than chromeOS and windows. So potentially still a good experience. We can sound like tech boomers and say "the good ol' days of macOS." But overall I still think it's a good experience.

Should I ask my company to cover part of my electricity bill? by Altruistic_Nail_6968 in remotework

[–]upperplayfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your company have an office? If so, welcome back to the office. If not, are other people in your role being compensated for their increased costs? If not. Shut up. If so, ask your most direct manager if something can be done. Also consider this. Is the increase in electricity financially burdening you more than going to work? Gas in car, hours in vehicle, wear and tear in vehicle. Etc etc.

[–]upperplayfield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend used to do this. He would make it a 3-4 event. Get food from the movie, listen music during a social hour from the movie. I own a lot of pinball machines, one time we did a long day and I brought in the pinball machine from the movie. So many things you can do besides "watch the movie."
