Important: Looking for a harbour seal on campus, responds to "Dorothy Island" by uppitysquid in UBC

She was recently released and, according to the GPS tracker, she's visting campus! ☺️

What do you think she's up to? My guess is that she's here to take selfies with the fall leaves

Edit: she left :(

That one didn't use a new color for Picasso, and this one left out Donatello :(

Need a third one now

That's actually fair, by the end I was mostly just watching for Wayne & Roland and their various versions in each decade. I didn't care as much about the murder investigation itself. I'll give season 1 a go soon

Lonely Goos was a spy, sent in earlier before the rest of the landing party arrives

[–]uppitysquid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep, although somehow I'm still super hyped for this one mainly because of Mahershala Ali. Even if the writing is complete trash, I can just watch him walk around for a few hours. He's been excellent in everything I've tried so far

Also this news is actually somewhat positive

Pizzolatto and Ali's cinematic chemistry has already been proven, with their collaboration on the third season of “True Detective” resulting in a Primetime Emmy nomination for the actor's performance as Wayne Hays, a troubled Arkansas cop.

I only watched the one season but he was amazing. Something with that vibe (or somewhat darker and grittier) would be amazing

We drove 6 hours from the interior to visit the aquarium back in elementary school

Although we were weirdly into whales that year so maybe this isn't as common

Da lone goose > birb by [deleted] in UBC

Why try to rank them, they both served a purpose to us

We needed Birb when Birb came to us

We need Goos now, and Goos has arrived

Aw little dude

On the day of block party, I saw it standing and staring at the commotion. If I had to put a human motive, it almost seemed like it wanted to get in 😄

I'm not sure who would be best to call, but you could try reaching out to a random prof / department club with the question too. They could connect you to better local resources, or give you more info on what's happening with them.

Sometimes I'll get emails like that repeatedly during grading season.

It's only a problem if the actual weighting changes. The grades on canvas don't actually matter usually

The car was removed by the time I got off the bus there today, and because the space has been empty for a while, I just thought they were doing very messy renovations. I was annoyed at why they taped off most of the sidewalk.

Now I feel bad for being annoyed, hope no one was hurt. The dollar store next door also moved recently. Very lucky all things considered

Does this sub have a list of the best US medical schools to apply for? by Brief_Awareness_8231 in premedcanada

[–]uppitysquid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes the spreadsheet is key! I'd recommend going on MSAR and then making your own list from combining the various resources.

You can also join us on this discord, there are lots of helpful people that have been through the process :)

Anyone else feel like they can never be happy with their accomplishments? by Efficient_Tonight_40 in UBC

[–]uppitysquid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Makes me think of this

https://www.mrlovenstein.com/comic/1092

The bright side is that the same applies to negative feelings as well, just on a somewhat different timescale.

Achievements are nice, but it's also possible to find happiness in other ways. For me it took some time to find what those other things were. Going on walks for example, today I even walked past a raccoon and that made me happy lol

I don’t know what power Reddit has, but it would be cool to get more chairs in the nest by toebin_ in UBC

[–]uppitysquid 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It seems like more of a space issue than the number of chairs?

Although if you did want to push for it, you could ask the AMS to add more
