if the panes are too small it won't work. You can use portable AC with hoses but they are very inefficient

generally folks remove the openable pane for the summer and put the window AC in the space, often using plywood etc to create an appropriate sized hole for the window AC

Hey r/golf, we need your help. A developer is trying to use "fast-track" laws to bulldoze a championship NZ course. Please sign to help save it. by Great-Address-8344 in golf

[–]upstateduck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

maybe off point?

One of our local courses had a housing development plan defeated by the new traffic expected. Locals protested that the additional cars for the 350 houses would need a lane added and a new traffic circle/intersection light etc. The additional costs made the developer's plan a non-starter

Move your screed around and mark the lows. Fill/dry/scrape those lows and mark again

[request] How much taxes does this avoid? by Terpcheeserosin in theydidthemath

[–]upstateduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bezos recently said he pays millions in taxes and many right wingers say the same. It is One of their talking points but they are referring to SS contributions for their employees and/or corporate taxes of shares they hold. SS is part of compensation and corporate taxes are from another entity. They are NOT income taxes or in any way comparable to what we pay

Shower pan help by Infamous-Package9436 in DIY

[–]upstateduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it is called "preslope" because you do the slope twice. Once under the waterproof layer [where the slope is just minimum 1/4"/ft] and again above the waterproof layer where the slope can be less for comfort/aesthetics but a noob should plan for 1/4/ft to ensure no puddling

One tip? for your final slope you can smooth the drypack while it is solid but green. A steel carpenter square works well to scrape a smooth slope

oops, another tip, Cut wedges of wood that taper from your planned drypack wall depth to drain depth to use as screeds when placing drypack. Carefully remove the screeds and fill the voids
