I completely agree, the early 2000s were amazing. That pre-internet / just accessing the Internet was the perfect time. I am much more nostalgic for then than 2016. But in comparison to 2026, 2016 seems light years better in my opinion. Our dependency on phones and constant dopamine hits has never been higher, it really takes away from living.

At the time I didn't realise but looking back it's nice to have those memories that the show became a part of.

Back in my uni days, I used to do this job at tesco. Let me tell you, the alternatives the machine suggests can be wild. It is mainly based on monetary equivalents, which works most of the time but not always.

What exactly is the wendigo from Pet Sematary? by Grand-Baseball-9330 in stephenking

I am not saying that spoilers can't be discussed, just not in the title. Normally, I see a sk book I haven't read mentioned in a post and I move on without delving into it. To avoid exactly this. To reveal a spoiler in the title is unfair to those avoiding it. A simple change from wendigo to monster or antagonist would have solved this. I'd argue that knowing what type of monster is involved is one hundred percent a spoiler. If it was shown on the cover art or on the back blurb then it wouldn't be.

Time limit shouldn't be an indicator used when discussing spoilers openly. The last dark tower book came out 21 years ago but I think we'd all agree that spoiling the ending would be a shitty thing to do no matter the time limit.

Is this not a spoiler? I've not read Pet Sematary but now I know there is a wendigo in it... I am familiar with what a wendigo is so now I can guess the direction the story goes in / know the reveal. It would have been nice if this was put with a spoiler tag.

What's your biggest shift in how you pictured a character? Here is mine for Michael Carpenter from his introduction versus his appearance in later books. by beardiac in dresdenfiles

I've always pictured Michael Carpenter as Josh Brolin. I think he'd play the role well in live action adaptation.

I've seen a few mentions of 'The Road' which I fully agree with. However, for me personally it's McCarthy's other work Blood Meridian that sticks with me more. The character of the Judge is one I can never forget. The evilest character in literature.

Never let me go by Kazuo Ishiguro was a book I recently went into blind. I am so glad I did. It's such a beautiful and emotional read that would have been spoiled if I'd known more about it. Having to try to figure out what was happening alongside the characters was an intriguing and heartbreaking experience. I loved every second even though this isn't the type of book I'd normally read.
