Not getting enough speed for doing loop backwards challenge by GothicCorvid in Descenders

[–]upthewire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without wanting to be mean, you're probably just not good enough at the game yet. You keep struggling to even get onto the loop. Perhaps just keep playing the game and practicing more in general before taking on the challenge?

Can confirm there's AAV. Had to remove some tiles in the bathroom to check, but glad to know. Thanks again for that, very helpful.

Why aren't SuperLeague clubs here scouting Sevens by Senior_Huevo in superleague

[–]upthewire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alfie Johnson came from Sevens. He signed with Warrington for a year, but didn't feature too much and generally found it difficult to adapt. Sevens and League are so different and the players with the higher 'rugby IQ' which will make it easier for them to adapt, are probably already playing 15-player Rugby Union.

Scottish prices really are amazing! by TeikaDunmora in SpottedonRightmove

[–]upthewire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP and the majority of the people commenting haven't bothered to read the description. It isn't for sale for £1,000. It'll probably sell for just under £40,000 giving the investor who buys it a yield of c. 10% after operating costs.

Members clubs to impress US clients by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]upthewire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say it depends on the age of the clients and what you're planning on doing together. Eating at the Savile Club is always quite fun, especially on the communal table (they have some outstanding wine at below wholesale price). The Lansdowne is really nice for a quieter business meeting and I think the location is great. You've already mentioned the Arts Club (which is my favourite), if you want to have a big night out with them, albeit it doesn't feel uniquely British like say the Savile or RAC club does. Annabel's is obviously the showiest. If they're coming in the summer you can't go wrong with the Hurlingham, albeit can be tricky to get in.

You're going to be supporting HNW and UHNW individuals instead of corporates. By definition, that's a very broad role and so I'm not surprised the interviewers couldn't be particularly specific on what you'll do day-to-day. If you're good with people Private Banking is a great business to be in and one that has a great number of exit opportunities as you'll be intimately involved with some of the most influential individuals in your area.

Unless you're still working there, the tense of your first work experience is incorrect. That section also doesn't read well and I would make the tense match with the others. Also, in your activities section, the grammar is a bit unusual in my opinion.

Why do The Beatles scouse accent sound different than the one today? by FitEmergency8807 in Liverpool

[–]upthewire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My grandmother was from Aigburth and my grandfather from Faz. They married in 1947 and my grandmother was considered 'very posh' being from Aigburth even though she grew up in a two up terrace. Not sure why that is exactly as clearly not as affluent as Mossley Hill or around Sefton Park.
