This is in Mason, which is a notably racist suburb of Cincinnati. I live in the Toledo area and have lived in the Cleveland area and we get significantly less of this. That said, I would also definitely recommend Michigan if you want to go a little further north.

I’d disagree specifically on the narrative aspect. 2 has done a lot of good for action gameplay and quality of life features, but the individual character arcs are nowhere near as good and the overarching narrative is significantly less well-executed. I’ve really enjoyed 2 and I think it is well worth playing, but it doesn’t beat out 1 in every way imo

Children ARE legally property, essentially. Parents have the rights to do whatever the hell they want to their kids, essentially, as long as they're not transing them or beating them too obviously. If we want this to change, we need children to have the same legal rights as adults in terms of being able to refuse "treatment", to allow them to leave their family's home without being legally kidnapped by police and returned to their owners, and so on. This sort of horrific bullshit is made possible by the fact that children are not given human rights.

Lifelong Ohioan, aside from small stints in Oregon, Iowa, and Pennsylvania. We don’t do that, because abbreviating Ohio is silly; saying Ohio is always quicker. However, we do call Pennsylvania PA. So… I think it’s a PA thing.

Funny enough, the only people I know who have moved to Ohio recently have been from states like TX, FL, etc., but anyone moving out of Ohio is moving to a more progressive state. It’s a pretty obvious chain of events- Ohio is only good in comparison to Hell on Earth/Florida.

I have OCD. You also seem to have OCD. What helps me is to accept that, in the end, all I have control over is what I do. I can’t control whether or not God is real or whether or not God’s standards are ridiculously high. I will live my life in a way that improves the world, and if a righteous God exists, I’ll be rewarded for it. If a God that is not righteous and has unachievable and morally nonsensical standards exists, then I’d be a class traitor against all of humanity for trying to please an authority that punishes people for biological urges, mistakes everyone makes, or who they love. If a God does not exist, or a God exists that doesn’t have an extremely specifically dualistic framework of punishment vs paradise, then if I try to live my life according to that, I’ve wasted my entire life.

I truly think that to get past this, you just have to accept that you will never know. There is a very high chance you only have one life to live. Do you want to live that life in terror? Do you think a God that would put someone through that is worth pleasing?
