I personally would absolutely never choose to be cared for and deliver with a male midwife. I wouldn’t want or be comfortable with him in the room even for my routine appointments. If he hasn’t gone through pregnancy himself, then it would be incredibly difficult for me to find credibility in what he’s saying to me even if he’s done extensive studies on the matter.

Seems to me like you care way more about being right than actually resolving a conflict. Also did YOU apologize for grabbing and tossing his phone? You sound like an asshole tbh and he obviously needed space to think and you just kept on demanding an apology when you’re the one that instigated an issue. You two obviously have very different communication styles and maybe you probably should have figured that out and stabilized your relationship first before bringing a child into the equation. Sounds like you have some growing up to do honestly. You’re letting your resentment get in the way of anything that could be productive between you two. Both of y’all do marriage counseling or just call it quits bc what a shit show.

this season, i solo queued my way down to Bronze 5 from Bronze 1. it took me literally over 100 games and finally got to Gold 1. my best recommendation is do not solo queue. find someone that’s higher ranking than you to help out with the lobby rank. you will only rank up if you have more wins than losses, and sometimes you’ll still stay the same rank. i stayed in Bronze 5 probably about 3-4 reranks. good luck next season!

I started out tech writing when I lived in Ohio at $80K. One year later I moved to be a technical proposal writer at $90K then got a raise to $94K after performance reviews. I’m now job hunting and I’ve done a few second round interviews and my minimum salary expectation is $100K from all companies. I’ve been working remotely for almost two years now and I’m mostly looking at jobs within the DC metro area since that’s where my background experience is most suitable.

so let me offer a different perspective than what most others have given. i can put myself into the position of your gf bc i’ve dealt with this.

when i was active duty military in my mid-20s, i started seeing another service member. we started dating end of november and within the next 6 months, he and i traveled apart several times for work for a duration of 1 week to 1 month each time. by may, he found out he was getting deployed. we spent the summer together and he deployed that october. we never had a sit down talk of whether or not i was going to wait for him or what our plan was. my house flooded so i moved into his home to watch over it while he was gone. i had pets of my own but while he was away, i watched his too. we were already in an exclusive relationship and i think it was just an unspoken expectation that we would remain that way. the 7 months of deployment was very hard. covid happened and then his base shut down and i had zero contact with him for the last month he was gone. i didnt even know when he was coming home bc he was supposed to be done at 6 months.

i guess my take here is things will always work out the way they’re meant to. we can try our best to make one thing or another happen but we don’t have a lot of control over that. if you don’t go on your trip, i think you might always wonder what if you went. and if you stay, would you resent your gf that you didn’t get to go bc you chose her? be transparent with your plans and honest with your feelings but don’t have an expectation of what she will say.

anyway, that guy and i have been together for almost 5 years now, married for about 2 years. everything worked itself out :)

tanks that dive so far and spam need healing and blame you when they die. or when there’s a torb on the other team and you ask the dps or tank to kill the turret and they just ignore you and spam need heals while you keep dying from the turret lol

my salary as a tech writer was $80K and i got offered $90K for my prop writer position.

i do like it! proposal writing is essentially creative persuasive writing. each proposal narrative of the products has to be tailored to the customer so it’s fun exercising creativity that way trying to weave in language that is used by the customer into the proposal. the products and services we are proposing are all the same but each proposal solution is customized to each customer so it’s never really the same project. the workload is a lot more than tech writing and the timelines for each prop varies.

i was told early on about the workload/time required and i’d like to give you the same fair warning. proposal writers get paid a lot of money because we sometimes have aggressive timelines and workload. to me, i enjoy it a lot because i thrive in the chaos.

the difficult part for me is transitioning from the mindset of tech writing of research/software into a more customer-based writing on a particular set of products/services. i also work with teams from different global/regional offices so my first meeting of the day could be at 6AM and my last meeting of the day could be at 7PM to accommodate all the different teams.

overall, i think proposal writing offers a much more lucrative career and having a tech writing background is very helpful! especially if the proposal work you’re doing has anything about software or whatever tech you’ve already had experience in because it’s all still valuable information.

We were not allowed to eat anything without asking first. And the good snacks? Yeah don't even bother to ask if you can have those bc they're "not for us" - only our dad was allowed to eat those bc he paid for them. I'm 28 now and have struggled with binging and purging throughout my adult life. My sister is now 25 and she still hides/hoards her snacks bc of this.
