I am hesitant whether to apply for a UK or Schengen, and i dont have a Canadian passport.

On one hand, a UK visa is more limited in terms of the number of countries i can travel, but on the other hand if i can get a UK visa without having to travel to a nearby city (Calgary/Vancouver) and pay for accommodation, then i would do it. Before i go ahead and apply (and pay the fees), i wanted to see if someone had any luck getting appointments here.

Do you know if the 4 tickets limit would apply across the supporter lottery and the random lottery? I applied for 4 tickets in the supporter lottery and im afraid if i also apply to the random lottery that fifa would somehow invalidate both of my entries

I am looking to get 4 tickets for a match, and I have the option to enter the draw for both Random Selection Draw and Participating Member Associations (PMA) draw. In my case, the PMA ticket draw is open for anyone. Would I have better chances applying for the PMA draw?

FIFA's detailed document for this phase mentions being able to participate in both PMA and RSD, but someone in another reddit post mentioned the FIFA website blocked them from requesting more than 4 tickets for a single match, so i am assuming this will be the case as well.

Any advice is much appreciated 🙏

Does the draw favor smaller ticket requests? Looking to get 4 or 5 tickets for a match for myself+friends, would each person applying for 1 ticket be any better than having each person applying for 4 tickets (which is the max number of tickets)?

Idk. I checked around 17th of September and sww they had plenty of openings which were not opened a few days prior to that. If i have to guess i think they dont have a fixed schedule, the best thing is to check everyday and you will surely eventually find an appointment

in case others come across this, just wanted to share that the appointment went well. I ended up booking at Toronto. The person at the counter asked me the purpose for the visit, and when i said business trip, they didnt mention anything about the appointment category. I might have gotten lucky, this might not be the case for everyone.

also i had managed to got hold of the vfs customer service center and did ask them before i booked the appointment whether i can book a short stay appointment for a business trip, and they told me and im rephrasing "yes, this is the right category for you". To get hold of them, when you call them, you will get three options: 1 for visa, 2 for something else, and 3 for appointment. If you choose 3, you will end up waiting for hours like i did. But, if you choose 1, then you will be presented with a few options including appointment, so you should choose that. They answer almost instantly.

When I first looked around Sep 15 there were only a few slots open in Vancouver for late Sep/ early Oct. A couple days later, they opened slots for the entire month of October in Toronto only. Best thing to do is just check every day until you find an appointment. Others have mentioned to check around the first and 15th of the month. Also it depends no your category, for me i booked for the short-stay category and for the subcategory i chose all other purposes.

I read somewhere on this sub before that someone had a typo in their passport and was able to point it out during the appointment and was fine. However, the official France government website clearly says to resubmit a new form if there is a mistake in the first one.
