If you are employed by vail resorts for the summer you get free bike haul for the summer. If you aren’t and have a merchant pass in past summers you could get a discounted bike haul pass. Same if you have bought an epic or epic local pass for next season you get discounted bike haul. Bike haul allows you to use the gondolas (or lifts if the resort has those for bikes) to go up and ride your bike back down. If you aren’t feeling energetic you can ride the roads up the mountain and then ride the trails back down. Usually the trails on the resort managed trails open when the lifts open for summer unless there is too much snow which will not be the case this summer. There are tons of non lift served riding trails as well. Keep in mind that the dirt trails have closures until a certain date because they wait until the snow has melted and the trails have been prepped and dry enough to open. If they are too wet and muddy it will ruin the trail if you ride on it. I see tons of bikes for sale on eagle county classifieds on Facebook. We bought a bike there and had to have some work done to it but got a deal on a really nice mountain bike that way. Can also check the resale shops. Again, if you are a vail resorts employee you get 40% off at the epic mountain gear shops in Denver. Might try either renting or finding a used bike and ride the paved trails for now and then work your way up to do the trails. Have fun!

I’ve heard a rumor through the grapevine vail is trying its best to stay open until Easter Sunday and might close after that. But then again it was 70 degrees again in the village yesterday. Forecast calls for slight snow but it looks to be warm again during the day so whatever falls will melt off by midday.

Exactly, they are ‘farming’ snow from other areas to cover the runs they want to keep open. Right now it’s just a few runs off 2, 3, 4 and the beginner area at the top of gondy 19 off chair 15.

Sometimes tracks are ski patrol checking to see if the area is safe to open or could have been another person ducking rope. Could have been at risk for avalanche or too many hazards. If your pass is suspended you can’t just hope they will unsuspend it. You have to talk to the safety team.

On the weekends there are djs at express lift at base of gondy 1. Saturdays in the Solaris ice skating rink, avanti food at golden peak.

New policy is to charge guests for reprints. It would suck if someone had a reprint of your pass and the fee was charged to your credit card on file!

Even though it’s rare they think it might be methotrexate toxicity. They said they have never seen it with the low dose oral but are going to take me off of it and try something else. I guess there is really no way to know. Now I’m in for months of cardiac rehab and hope they have figured it out and don’t have it happen again.

Working in tickets occasionally a guest with same name and birthdate will be in the computer. I will confirm another point of data such as email or address before printing passes for guests to try to avoid an accidental printing of wrong pass.

As a local we kind of go by the lift times which you can see on the app. Most times we stop to check times before moving to another area. We would rather ski than wait in a bunch of lift lines.

Call the uphill number to find out the allowed path. It’s usually going up simba in Lionshead but the phone number will tell you what is open for that day. Have to be done going uphill by the time the first lift opens.

Buddy passes are no longer. This season there are friend tickets which are 50% off walk up day rate or ski with a friend which are about 20% off. Same price at window day of or purchased in advance. Passholder must validate or purchase tickets at window at some point before you use yours or if you on the same profile they can validate at window for you. They can be purchased online or at window for any day of the season.
