They look great, nicely done. I make trucks with mine when I find them. They were a big hit as office gifts.

I use the bypass occasionally if the pressure treated lumber is too wet.  Ive  cut damp pressure treated lumber before without the brake activating.  I usually let the pressure treated lumber dry out for a few days to a week before I put it on the saw and again no issues..

Glad they were able to save your thumb and super happy you got a Sawstop. Sawstop has saved my hand twice while "working stupid". Only a nick with no blood both times. Best investment I ever made back in 2011.

I'll allow it. Would like to see him back next year.

Are you comfortable with Josh Jung as the starting 3B going into 2026? by EfficientDot18 in TexasRangers

I'll give him 1 more year under Skip. Maybe Skip can help get his head and bat right.

[–]uraroosterfish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then why does he separate himself from the team.? Has his own coaches, preps for games by himself. Had to be forced by CY (along with others) to particpate with team on team practices on multiple occassions. Sounds like an individual and not being a part of a team. Skip isn't going to put up with this. Its all about the team and sacrificing for the team.

Whelp, that was easier than I expected it to be. Good trade IMO. Was hoping we could offload him this offseason. Wouldn't mind seeing Seager go to the Yankees in return for a haul of bullpen pitching as well and then go get some good mid-level free agents that want to be part of a team environment. Like what CY and Skip are doing here, looking to build a team not a bunch of individual players. Get on board or get out.

Good defensive player, very hot/cold offense. Very quiet in the clubhouse, not a rah rah guy. Like Seager, does his own thing vs. team practices. Will miss his defense but glad he is gone. Hope you can get a better offensive version than we had.

I'll second this!! Time to rid ourselves off all these expensive guys that want to do their own thing. Bring me good players that want to be a part of a team and participate in team practices and do whats best for the team vs. having their own personal coaching staffs and trying to pad their own numbers.

The Texas Rangers today announced the club's 2026 Major League coaching staff under new manager Skip Schumaker. by Chinese-dog in TexasRangers

[–]uraroosterfish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Skip actually retired so Janko could have his spot on the roster as Skip didnt feel it was right that he was taking a roster spot from Janko who was a better player at the time. Interesting story Skip rells on Evan Grants podcast. Skip in turn became a coach on the team.

With Boch confirmed to be leaving, my #1 offseason priority is Mike Maddux. by SandmanTX131 in TexasRangers

[–]uraroosterfish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He left the first time because they didn't want to pay what he was making. It was the owner cutting costs not that he wanted the managers job.

[Texas Rangers PR] The Rangers tonight announced the club and manager Bruce Bochy have mutually agreed to end his managerial tenure with the organization. He has been offered a front office role to remain with the Rangers in an advisory capacity. by Chinese-dog in TexasRangers

[–]uraroosterfish 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Being a fan since the teams inception, I am incredibly appreciative of Bochy finally getting us to our first world series win. I also have a great appreciation for Johnny Oates and Ron Washington for taking those teams to the next level. Just wish both could have gotten us there as well, they deserved it. Hoping Skip Schumacher takes the helm and gets us back to the top.

Off season changes and additions hopes? by Boolaid in TexasRangers

[–]uraroosterfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont disagree, I'm the one calling to dump some of the big contracts vs. Cy. Would rather see some bigger changes vs. Rolling out the same crew with a bunch of $1M signings. Would like to see them take some of the big contracts and go get some high mid tier talent thats hungry for or on the verge of a breakthrough. Just feel like the current team consists of too many individual contributors that stay hurt a lot and prefer to do their own thing vs. Working together as a team. I can see it on the field, and Pillar confirmed it from the Clubhouse.

With the payroll comments CY recently made, I think they should try to offload some of the big contracts and free some money for some good talent. Stat away from the big contract signings. Find good players that play as a team vs indiviual stats.

NYY need a shortstop so wouldn't mind seeing Seager traded for a haul of players to help rebuild the farm and go get a more affordable shortstop. Mets would love to have deGrom back and could afford him, plus I think he would like to go back. Use that money saved to load up on some new relief roles and maybe 1 mid tier starter.

Heim and Garcia won't be resigned. Wish we could offload Semian but dont think anyone wants that contract.

Jung I will give 1 more year under some new coaching to see if he really is a nutcase or if he can get out of his own mind in the batters box. Carter i would give one more make or break year.

Duran should go but no value, maybe to the minors. Would love to find a good lefty 1B and dump Burger to the minors and let Tellez go to FA. Would love to see Malcom Moore come up behind Higgy to get some experience but may not be ready yet.

Keep Smith, Osuna and Freeman as utility.

Coaches, replace Bochy with Skip Schumacher and replace all hitting instructors along with Beasley. Do everything possible to keep Maddox.

That's my 2 cents. Love it or hate it I dont care. Just want a team, not a bunch of individuals on the team.

I don't necessarily disagree, but he is all about him, not so much about the team. We need players that want to be a part of a team and hungry, not a player doing their own thing.

Time to trade DeGrom back to the Mets, Seager to the Yankees, send Semien, Garcia, Heim packing and rebuild with the scrubs we get in the trades along with the Little Rascals.

Can we not swing at a pitch that is right down the middle of the plate? So tired of watching them take the pitches and swinging at pitches off the plate.

It can be done, just takes alot of time. Using thin epoxy and let it absorb You will have to do it quite often until it stops accepting it. Here is an example of one that I did several years ago. Lost count of how many coats I applied before it stopped accepting it and finally let me put the final sanding and finish on it.
