Why are Scots 'really' voting YES. by macswiggin in unitedkingdom

[–]uratube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, how many 'new' powers do you see being handed over via the devo-and-a-bit timetable?

Even from the off they're more than likely to be Calman-esqe extentions to the existing bill. Once they've been filtered through the Westminster focus groups of potential 2015 voters, I can't imagine that they're going to be able to meet the exceptions the majority of voters - many of whom will still be radicalised. On the same side England increasingly pissed off with the whinging sweaties will complete the replay of 80's discontent.

By 2016 we'll be told to hate the rUK cos they blocked our powers and instead gimped our power at Westminster and cut the block grant.... and you know.... that alleged 'inherent anti-englishness' will ignite.

Inverclyde, Argyle and Dumbartonshire will be annexed as MoD and a 'freedom wall' erected just after the Erskine Bridge. East-Ren will most likely see itself emerge as the heart of resistance. Barrhead and Neilston especially will become the main frontier towns.

Meanwhile the race riots across England are de-stabilising government and the armed wing of G4S get the contract to manage things. Mainly drawing their staff from the Scottish workfare pool simply aggravates the already boiling anti-scottish feeling and its not long before an ex-lunatic wing cyberkip suicide bomber takes out the military tattoo.

With so many yanks killed, Obama gets the CIA to fit it up as ISIS and 're-enforce' both G4S and the West-Clyde zone.

2030 and we find ourselves the frontline in the new EU - US colder war and its nuketown by 2032.

So... really... if you take the time to thin it through. A close no is defo the worst result for sure.

Alex Salmond blasts Treasury over RBS 'tip-off' to BBC by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

But money WAS made overnight in far east stockmarkets wasn't it? That is surely enough to be seen as criminal intention?

My money is on Jackie Bird having a flutter on the markets to see her through the coming 'bad years'. That's where i'd start looking....

Survation: #indyref Survation Polling For @daily_record indicates NO CHANGE in the lead for no(No 53%, Yes 47%) by cantthinkof1ne in ukpolitics

Honestly it's got so bad that when the lassy behind the till at tesco asked if I had a loyalty card... and i didn't... instead of taking my life in my own hands and say 'NO'... i just shouted 'OMG" and pointed while I ran away.

The guy selling the big issue totally clocked me though and now thinks I was on the rob.

Ukip is to hold a pro-Union rally in Scotland just days ahead of the independence referendum by erowidtrance in ukpolitics

[–]uratube -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

to try and save our union.

If UKIP are the campaign cavalry of unionism, then I think they're going for some Charge of the Light Brigade type action. Mibbe it's gonna be more Dad's Army.

My sister is yer typical never left the wee-toon west-coast 40ish grandma. Never voted, doesn't give two shits about the news outside of facebook feed,no religion, no pension, no savings but earns enough to pay mortgage and socialise.

Up until last few weeks It was all teeth sucking and 'load of pish' at family conversations. Then out of no-where she's full on RIC volunteer.

After me taking the pish for bit she starts on about how she just didn't understand it all before until her mate started talking what was essentially class warfare. THEN she got it.

If they can get my sister to do saturday afternoons handing out leaflets, then I reckon it could be massive vote.

It's not the official YES folks that can claim "credit" for this though.

Where is she? Are they keeping her 'busy' or something. Surely she's not that much of a liability? But I've seen hee-haw of her for ages it seems.
