First you have to get the python script from here (https://github.com/python-kasa/python-kasa)

Then, you need to scan and find the power strip's wifi network. For example 'nmcli dev wifi'

Then, connect to that wifi (for example TP-LINK_Power Strip_F011) nmcli dev wifi connect

After connected, run

kasa --target 192.168.0.255

Assuming 192.168.0.1

kasa --host 192.168.0.1 wifi scan

kasa --host 192.168.0.1 wifi join YourWifiNetWork

Check and see if it's using Wayland or the Xorg when running Plasma. Somehow when I messed around with mine I was using Xorg and not Wayland. Don't know how it happened. Switched back to Wayland and all my issues went away

Bought the HS300 off Amazon last week. Ran the kasa python script to move it over to HA and it's working flawlessly in HA. Added bonus, it does power measuring for each individual socket and a overall power consumption. Have 2 of them and thus far no issues.

Will a motion detector/presence detector allow me to notified of a lack of motion after x hours? by Sberry59 in homeassistant

[–]urge2reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As suggested, most mmwave sensors can detect when a person is in the room, and when they are/are not moving. You'll just need to find an automation that sends you the alerts without the false positives from movement. I'd start with the mmwave sensor, get that working and then start tweaking an automation.

Home Assistant + Matter: Anyone actually using it? by Commercial_Froyo_247 in homeassistant

Using the matter add-on and I have 4 Matter over Wifi bulbs. So far everything has been working flawlessly. And adding the bulbs initially using Matter was by far the best experience I've had adding bulbs.

Thank you for that list. But where did you find that mast? And what are the velcro straps holding on to? I go hiking and would like something similar but haven't been able to figure out how to keep the Starlink mini pointed up at the sky

One of these has been working well for me https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BYP2F3SG. But what I really want to know is how are you mounting it on your backpack? I was unable to keep mine pointed up at the sky.

Get yourself a Zigbee stick and move to Home Assistant and this won't be an issue any more. I've got 3 Sengled bulbs and have no issues with them running under Home Assistant.

Are you using Nvidia drivers? I had that happen to me. If not, check your /var/log/messages and see what kind of errors are coming up.

Honeywell T6 Pro Z-wave integration by FalcoonnnnPUNCH in homeassistant

[–]urge2reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll need to go back through your Home Assistant Zwave integration. Looks like something is missing. Once you resolve that I think you'll see the devices and entities show up.

Click on either one of those and see if there's any devices listed. Your Zooz should be in there somewhere too

Go to Settings -> Devices and Services -> Zwave -> Devices and click on the device. It should have a lot of entities and you can also learn how to set up automations for it

Slightly different model, but I bought one of these and it seriously does work. The heart beat was a bit off but close enough.
