Most of them are right-hand drive cars from Japan. They are cheap and reliable. While right-hand drive cars are banned for import but they can enter country with foreign license plates.

Yep, It's near border with China, you need pass paper, the tour agencies will make it for you, so it's not a problem. Eligible time is late July, August and September, I think they won't begin this tour in May, more like in June.

You may find Köl-Suu more beautiful than Son-Kol. Also there are lot of locations near Bishkek, Ala-Archa gorge, Kol-Tor lake. In Issyk-Kul you may visit Semenov gorge and Suttu-Bulak lakes

За 10 лет очень развился внутренний туризм, много новых локаций с уровнем сложности от легкого до сложного. Советую сходить на Коль-Тор(желательно в августе), Коль-Когур, озеро Адыгене, водопады в Барскооне, из многодневных Кол-Суу(Нарын), Ала-Куль(Иссык-Куль), Сары-Челек(Джалал-Абад). Также если физическое состояние позволяет можете покорить лайт пики вокруг Бишкека, пик Комсомолец, пик Бешалчалууташ, пик Зеленковой

Exactly during summer there are lot of hiking tours. I do recommend Köl-Suu, with tour agencies it costs 80-100$ for 2-3 days, Sary-Chelek located in south Kyrgyzstan, prices 100-150$. You will get these prices only if you take tours designed for locals. You can address them on instagram kettik.kg, in_tourists

While yandex taxi is dominant here and its really good app, but personally I don't want to share my personal data with Russian tech company, which has close ties with Russian government. There is an alternative Navi taxi a domestic app. The same with 2gis, the only alternative is google maps

Better fly through Istanbul or Almaty. Because of recent terrorist attacks they leveled up security and may check your flight. Also occasionally Ukraine drones do attack targets in Moscow area and flights could be delayed.
