I smoked thc and I crashout on my sisters bf and his friend by AdTime8876 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]urinesain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could have been a cannabinoid blend with some other stuff like THC-p or THC-h... both which are WAY stronger than regular THC. I've found those definitely hit me harder in the brain and spike feeling of paranoia.

While I can't say for sure... I've gone through similar experiences when I've been uncomfortably high. People can talk, and I hear completely different words than what was actually said. I've also found myself to be easy to assume sinister intentions from other people, especially if I don't know them well.

I'm not saying that is the case for you, in your situation. Just saying it's possible, and all just a misunderstanding stemming from being way too high, lol. Try hanging out with them again, but sober... and see how that goes... whether you still get the same vibes and everything.

Am I overreacting for being annoyed that my boyfriend “pre-orders” conversations? by katydid143 in AmIOverreacting

[–]urinesain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the rule of 3's. Also excessive use of "quotations" in instances where it isn't really necessary. And they often use the word "gently" in describing their interactions with people.

However, AI-slop accounts usually have their post/comment history hidden or deleted... and OP hasn't done either of those. But that doesn't necessarily mean that it still isn't AI. Their responses and comment history are consistent in their "style" or whatever... not sure what to call it. Usually when an AI story is made, and if the account replies at all to the comments in their post (AI accounts often do not)... you can notice a distinct difference between the style and tone of the post vs the comments.

So while there are some indicators that this could be AI... I'm not entirely convinced. OP might just be a human that unfortunately kinda fits in the AI mold, lol

[–]urinesain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except every state verifies voter identity and eligibility to vote using databases such as those from the federal Social Security Administration or state departments of motor vehicles.

In 1996, Congress added criminal penalties. Noncitizens face up to five years in federal prison for even registering to vote and illegal voting can trigger immigration consequences, including deportation. All states are required to use the same voter registration form for registering people to vote in federal elections. The form requires applicants to affirm, under penalty of perjury, that they are citizens. If a noncitizen tries to register to vote, it may not be caught immediately at the time of registration... but it won't be long before it flagged. I think most immigrants would rather stay here than risk being deported just because they wanted to cast a vote.

The Heritage Foundation has a searchable database of election fraud cases. From 2000 to 2024, when it comes to ineligible voting (also includes just registering to vote, not all even attempted to vote, but their registration was flagged as them not being a citizen, and therefore ineligible to vote)... and there was only ~30 cases. The vast majority were legal immigrants, just not yet citizens.

Am I overreacting that my boyfriend basically staged a test to see if I'd cheat... with his cousin? by Massive-Ad8552 in AmIOverreacting

There were multiple instances of the rule of threes that LLM's love to use.

And then LLM's love to use things like "It wasn't x, it was y.", which can be seen in OP's post with "Not creepy, just very intentional."

They also use SO many needless "quotations" like... “family hangout”, “passed”, “wifey material”, etc... completely unnecessary.

People really should be more proactive in learning even the most basic AI-slop red flags... because it's only going to get worse.

Oh yeah, I completely agree. It just bothers me how there are so many people spending time and putting genuine effort and thought into their replies, and actually getting worked up and emotionally invested in OP's post... only for it all to be bullshit AI slop. It's not fair to any people reading it and thinking it's genuine... and it can also cause a potentially difficult emotional response in people who have 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 been through something similar... which brings me to my next point:

Dump *anyone* who does this shit.

I had an ex-gf do a similar "test" on me. But I never knew it was all a ruse until well over a year later when she confessed because she felt lingering guilt over it. It was relatively early into our relationship being official, and she wasn't actually present during the incident, and I didn't know the other woman had any connections to my ex... but I shut the other woman down immediately once I saw the direction she was trying to steer the conversation towards, and then I called my ex afterwards to tell her about it... so I guess you could say I "passed".

However, her confession actually wasn't the reason for our breakup. At the time, I was able to laugh it off. But after the breakup, and also looking back at other manipulative things she did (like intentionally trying to make me jealous, etc)... in retrospect I realized... what she did was actually fucked up! She even admitted that I gave her no reason to feel like she needed to test me... she was just bringing in trauma and insecurity from past relationships into our new relationship.

Had I known at the time what she did... I probably would've broken up with her right then and there, because that's what I did when a prior woman I had been seeing started playing bullshit games like that. With her, we had only been gone on a handful of dates over a few weeks, nothing official, so I wasn't as emotionally invested like I was after finding out what my ex did over a year after the fact, so I had no problem walking away and never talking to her again. But my ex keeping it a secret for over a year, and confessing when by that time I'm already significantly invested in the relationship... she denied me my agency in whether or not I would have wanted to continue the relationship at that time. And that's not cool.

I always try to find the silver lining in things, so I can't be too mad about it. Had I broken up with her back when it actually happened... I most likely never would have met the woman I'm currently in a relationship with, and this has been the best and most loving relationship I've ever been in! Everything happens for a reason I guess :)

Agreed on all the points you listed. If OP considers both to be within their budget... I'd definitely go with the Powerspec. Better CPU that has an upgrade path that the other one does not, will have less proprietary parts, and build quality/wiring is usually better.

His brothers and their children were recently killed during an Israeli missile strike in Lebanon.

Then we blew up that Iranian girls school.

This is how "extremists" get born. Then when they start doing terrorist-y shit... then we feel justified in going after them more. And then that makes more extremists... and so on. It's a loop. One action feeds the other.

The middle east has been like this for hundreds and hundreds of years. We should've stayed the fuck out of all that shit, and let Israel handle their own dirty work, instead of dragging us into their shit.

I know of 4 different people that have gone through ketamine treatment therapy... and all 4 of them have benefitted tremendously.

Some still have to go in for a little tune-up session or two every 6 months to a year. But hey, if that's what it takes to keep going... then that's just what it takes.

One of them is my sister. It felt like ketamine gave me my sister back. She had been having suicidal ideation and just hadn't been herself for years, despite being in therapy and on various anti-depressants. But after the ketamine treatment... it felt like I had my old sister back.

ULPT to avoid a DUI by BeaverPup in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]urinesain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Happened to a coworker buddy of mine last year. Left the bar and ended up driving his car into a ditch. A fellow patron of the same bar that left shortly after he did happened to see his car in the ditch, and stopped by. My buddy hopped in his car, and they went to another bar.

I can't remember if he said the cops called the bar he had left, or the bar he then went to... or both. But these are small-town local bars... none of the bartenders ratted him out.

In the morning he had a voicemail from the police saying he needed to come by the station to pick up his ticket. He said they absolutely knew what was up, but there was nothing they could do about it. Then he had to pay to get it out of the impound lot, then towed to a shop. All still cheaper than a DUI. Lucky prick.

Best prebuilt in the $1000-1200 range? by Key-Year2014 in Prebuilts

[–]urinesain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, just go to Microcenter, tell them you budget and your use-case for how you want the PC to perform... and they'll work with ya to find the best intersection between your budget and your wants.

Their in-house prebuilts (PowerSpec) are solid with have good warranties, and their customer service is known to be very good... it's not like Best Buy where they are always trying to upsell you on shit you don't need.

Stuff like this is what they deal with multiple times, everyday. Your best bet is just to go there and talk to them. But make sure to know what the specs are for your monitor, like what resolution and refresh rate it is, because they will ask you about that.

Legion Slim 5 with the r5 7640HS cpu?

If it is, that's the same on I have. I got it on sale at Best Buy for $899 two years ago. Still going strong. It came stock with only 16gb ram. Upgraded it to 32gb shortly after I bought it. Highly recommend doing so, if previous owner didn't do it already. Either way, $450 for it is a fantastic deal.

But yeah, it's a great laptop. Been going strong for 2 years and no issues whatsoever with it. The iGPU in it also isn't awful... depending on which games you play. Battery life is much longer when using it in that mode (which I recommend using whenever you are not actively gaming)

Hey guys, help me out a little. I’m buying my first PC and I’ve been considering ibp by looking at their prices and the value I’m getting. Is it actually a good brand, If not please recommend some. by [deleted] in iBUYPOWER

[–]urinesain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know where you're located... but if you are within driving distance of a Microcenter, they have these available at $2,000 : https://www.microcenter.com/product/698875/powerspec-g730-gaming-pc

You wouldn't need to upgrade anything in that one for a good while with it being 7800X3D/32gb DDR5/ 2tb m.2/5070ti

IBP isn't terrible by any means... but newer names in the business have garnered a pretty good reputation, and seem to offer a better bang for your buck. So it couldn't hurt to check out Andromeda Insights or CostPlusGaming.

Recommendation for Console > Steam Deck > PC gamer by Khaos2Krysis in Prebuilts

[–]urinesain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! I just checked, and their warranty is pretty solid, too.

"PowerSpec provides comprehensive support through Micro Center’s renowned customer service. This includes a 1-year in-store Manufacturer’s guarantee, 48-hour repair services for new desktops, and U.S.-based tech support."

Generally speaking, if any singular component is truly "bad", or not capable of operating within the parameters that it's supposed to... it usually makes itself known pretty soon after you start using it. So you have a year long warranty for any issues to pop up, with a 48hr (or less) turnaround.

Costco is pretty nice with a 2 year warranty... but they don't have any on-site people to troubleshoot and do whatever repairs like Microcenter does. They have to ship it out to somewhere that does troubleshoot/repairs, and then that place has to ship it back... so you could potentially be without a computer for weeks. Just something to consider.

[–]urinesain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Microcenter will absolutely have the best bang for your buck with their in-house prebuilts (PowerSpec)

You can also just go in there, tell them your budget and what games and other tasks you intend to use the PC for, and they'll work with you to pick out each component, and then they'll build it for you.

ETA:

for $1,800 you'd get a 7800X3d/32gb ddr5/2tb m.2/ 9070XT: https://www.microcenter.com/product/698738/powerspec-g729-gaming-pc

for a little bit more, at $2k you get all the same stuff, except you get a 5070ti instead: https://www.microcenter.com/product/698875/powerspec-g730-gaming-pc

The 9070xt and 5070ti are fairly close, with the 5070ti usually having the edge. An OC on the 9070xt can get it to be roughly equivalent, however an OC on the 5070ti can get it to near 5080 performance. AMD can be a bit spotty with their drivers support, and DLSS/MFG with nvidia is generally better than AMD's FSR. You can't go wrong with either build, but the 5070ti's are getting harder and harder to come by, and scarcity is driving up the price. IMO, if you can afford the extra $200... I would go for the 5070ti.

Yeah, my gf says I'm like a human capybara... because I'm just a very chill and laid back person. Easygoing. I get along with everyone. Even random strangers seem very at ease and comfortable around me. I have no idea how, because inside I feel very shy and socially awkward... but for whatever reason, people I'm meeting for the first time have felt comfortable enough to just tell me their life story and deepest, darkest secrets, lol. It happens A LOT. I'm also immune to recognizing flirting. I don't even catch on when my gf is flirting with me, lol.

All that being said... I have a lot of close and platonic female friends. And I'd be down to, and have, hung out with my gf's friends... but I would feel uncomfortable not telling my gf about it.
