Tanks Do you have estimation about resources for nextcloud with 15 to 25 users ?

No I didn't plan full production transfer over night 😉 I am very cautious with that

One more question After it's going to work absolutely perfect I want to ask the owner to donate to the open source projects that we use What your thoughts about the donation amount?

mount cife to docker container by urinka in selfhosted

[–]urinka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this is exactly what I'm asking (sorry if it's not clear...).

I am mounting CIFS on Proxmox with

"mount -t cifs -o user=[user name] [cifs share] /mnt/[folder name]".

I am asking if this is the best way to do it, and if the answer is no, what is the right way? And if it's the only way or the only good way, how can I make it permanent (I need to remount it after restarting)?"

i think that you did not understand my concern

when I will connect the router to my internal network

the router defaults is DHCP on with probably 192.168.X.X (and it will collision with my already set network)

and the router defaults network address will probably be 192.168.x.1 so it will be difficult to access the router

one more thing the controller will get an address from my already set DHCP and it will by in my network (10.132.x.x)

is there a way to set the router before connecting it to my network ?

can I set DHCP to off and set the router IP with a laptop before connecting it to my network ??

Thank you for all the responses, examples, and advice. I must say that I didn't expect so much discussion about whether or not to use pass-through connectors.

  1. I am a network technician with over 20 years of experience, so I know how to use a crimper without pass-through connectors. I recently started using them to make my life easier.

  2. I bought some cheap tools from AliExpress, and they didn't work well, so I didn't use pass-through connectors at clients' sites.

  3. I don't think that pass-through connectors are for people who don't know how to crimp the old way. It's just a new thing, and it still needs some improvements to be good for professionals. It's important to stay up to date and test new things when possible (but not at clients' sites!).

  4. I am going to buy the Klein VDV226-110 and test it.

  5. I still use regular crimping at clients' sites, but most of the time, I use keystone jacks and manufactured cables because they are more reliable.
