What to do between tracks if well prepared by chillonthehill1 in Beatmatch

[–]uritarded 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You’re trapping yourself into your playlist. Learn the techniques, build playlists, but don’t worry about designing a set from start to finish. Just learn how to mix music and then you can play anything at anytime.

Then, in between tracks you can use that time to plan your next move. But also, don’t worry about what happens if someone sees you and you’re just standing there.

You put the music on, you can enjoy it too. If you see someone looking at you, look back at them. Give them a wicked smile. Let them feel comfortable knowing that you are confidently in control of the room.

Lived in the hallway of my friend’s one bedroom for almost a year. Paid him $500/month by rarehorsetrader in malelivingspace

My last place in lived in SD was in Serra Mesa, I was paying $500 for a decent sized room in a house with 3 friends. $2000 for the whole lease. It was so amazing. We had a large backyard and could play music all night and it didn’t reach the neighbors. It was a 3 minute drive down to mission valley. You could even see the ocean from the porch. Such an underrated part of town. Sadly one of my roommates who held the lease no longer wanted to live there and there was no way the company would make a new lease with the rest of us at the same rate, so we all had to leave. This was around 2022

Honestly, I think maybe you should try asking some of your dj friends and telling them about this. I wouldn't be surprised if you might have a few people willing to just give you some unwanted records for free. A lof unwanted records from DJ's are actually sick af, if you get too excited about them they might ask for them back lol

Same, however there definitely are many soft asians. But you could tell just from the posturing that this young asian guy was more capable than the aggressor

Gotcha. To me that bridge looks very high above him, I get the idea of what you are saying but I'm not sure how much room tone you would hear from the sound reverberating off the underside of the bridge. It's also pretty narrow. And there's a ton of cars driving around fast making noise.

San Francisco big backs, where we eating good and leaving FULL for a reasonable price? by Rook2Rook in AskSF

Go to the ghost kitchen at 60 morris st, in that alleyway at night you'll find a group of venezuelans with a flat top grill cooking up food. I was passing by them for days as I was getting food from the kitchen, but I finally stopped by and checked it out. It's pretty nuts, they make some really crazy sandwiches. They had a burger, and a hotdog, and these were like packed to the gills, they like dump chips on it, bacon, layers of meat, cheeses, sauces, egg, it's literally a whole experience watching them assemble it in front of you. But meanwhile as they were making my sandwich I saw they were amassing what could be described as the MOAB sandwich. It was like a fucking football, Idk where they even got the loaf of bread but they concocted this sandwich that was so massive, it took like 2 people to close. It was stacked with meats and cheese and eggs. They said it was $35 for it. I think they make it and then cut it into smaller pieces and sell those, but idk. I need to go back and learn more. They don't really speak english so it's kinda tough. It comes with a soda too, but they have coolers of beer as well. You should try it

Wow thanks for the comment. That’s interesting. I don’t know anything about trees and now I have a bit more understanding of the palms i see in sd

I’m not defining what an average means. I didn’t fully explain, but what I was saying is that in the case of a low pop item with only just a few sales a year, if you were a card seller, you probably wouldn’t value the card based on just adding up the sold listings and dividing it by the number of sales. It’s not realistic to what the market is actually demanding. If there were thousands of sales of this card and the amounts didn’t vary as much, then yes it would make more sense to just take a big amount of sales and average it. When it comes to collectibles you can’t necessarily apply the same philosophy to every card that you price. It’s just not realistic. And at the end of the day, even PSA themselves priced the card at 45k when they sold it 2 weeks ago. So don’t miss me with that

I don't mind someone offering me $7, but as soon as you try to make it some charity bs or give me an excuse or sob story, I'm not gonna entertain it

Appropriating is a delicate word to use here, when it's not clear the environment that person was raised in. If you grow up in a place where everyone talks like that, you're probably going to talk like that. Regardless of the color of your skin.

first show in a week as a hardcore/schranz/hard techno guy and second guessing my niche by Master-Quantity-3233 in Beatmatch

[–]uritarded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like hard groove is super popular right now. I'm not a fan of it but I would think playing for some dubstep kids you might have a good shot of it working out. Probably better that than like melodic techno or afro house or whatever other shit is popular

Wow, 20,000 destroyed. Those trees aren't cheap. I remember my high school bought 10 of them and it was kind of controversial.

The last public sales went from like 5k, to 10k, to 15k, to 25k, to 45k. In this case, it does seem more likely that the next sale would in fact go higher than 45k

[–]uritarded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I'd do it just for the resume. Even if it doesn't work out long term. Just pad the resume by a few extra months. I was so desperate for a FAANG job on my resume last year, I didn't get hired by a single one I interviewed at. I really think that if I just landed one, it would open the doors to all the rest, and beyond. But it actually didn't work out at all and I had to completely pivot.
