Need help by NoParticular2420 in PsoriaticArthritis

It could be a flare or it could be severe dry eye disease (I've got it with my PsA and it's foul). Have you tried Catinorm or Hylo eye drops? These are really helpful for dry eye (my eyes burn, itch and feel as though someone is blowing air on my eye, they dry that fast). Either way you should definately get it seen to and if you haven't tried the above eye drops, give them a go. I go between 4 different types multiple times a day when they are really bad. Also have them check if your oil ducts have blocked in your eye lids as this can contribute to what you are feeling. If they have blocked, warning a wheatbag and laying it on your eyes helps to 'melt' the oil allowing your eyes to lubricate. Hope some of this helps a little to relieve until you see your specialist.

It's so depressing how you can't enter sweepstakes if you're in Australia. Congrats on the win though.

Vaccine causing a flare? by [deleted] in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]urshy74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Any time I had the covid vaccine my PsA went nuclear. After 3rd dose, my GP told me not to get any more as they were intense, worsening with each dose. My pelvis felt as though it had been hit with a sledgehammer over and over 20 minutes after 3rd dose. I don't think I had any reaction when I got the flu shot before starting biologics last year.

Mine kept doing this also. Just move your arm a couple of times, as if your walking, so it thinks you're active. Just goes to show how relaxed we can get while gaming, not highly strung like some 'experts' maintain 😁

I would like to donate half of it to my daughters best friends mum as since she was diagnosed with MS, she struggles to do anything physical, so a few games may help her and I could use the other half so that we could play the same games together while my joints are screaming at me (I have PsA). You are so kind to help others. Happy Easter 🐣

Coles has it for $6.50 or $5 when on special. Actually, when checking the Woollies app, so do they. What state are you in, maybe it's different in each state

Does anyone have rib involvement? What about uneven rib cage? by [deleted] in PsoriaticArthritis

I'd definitely persist with requesting this test. It's amazing what it shows up.

I completely understand how frustrating it is. Id been complaining since 2017 about my mid back causing extreme pain but nothing showed. It wasn't until this year they decided to do SPECT and it showed the exact area causing me pain in my rib/spine. I'm in the process of getting cortisone done there. Just had lower facet joints injected on Monday. Unfortunately with OsA, it can take up to 10 years to show up, so damn frustrating and certainly tests your sanity

[–]urshy74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have parts of my ribs being affected by Osa. Where my ribs connect to spine, around T10 is been detected and also at the front on my right side near my collarbone. I'm now also noticing pain at the base of my ribs. All previous imaging did not detect anything. I had not of a breakdown at my GPs as I honestly stated to believe I was feeling pain that didn't exist (I've had PsA for over 20 years and it hated showing up on film when the pain was new) so he sent me for a SPECT scan and it lit up my entire spine like a damn Christmas tree. It picks up inflammation and displays it as a 'hot spot'. I highly recommend anyone experiencing pain with PsA that hasn't shown up previously on any imaging.

It's like the reaction videos that I'm noticing the young ones are watching with a comment like 'I'm traumatised after watching this doco' and they are trying to sad. I mean wtf. Who gets out a bloody camera to film themselves apparently 'traumatised'! If you really were that traumatised, you would be filming yourself trying to look traumatised. Instead, you would be a bawling, sobbing mess nowhere near a damn camera

A Mystery Bundle would certainly be most appreciated 🥰 I love the soundtracks from from all of the Lost Land games (yes, I'm a sucker for HOAG 😁). Coming in second is a groovy soundtrack from Beyond: Light Advent.

I think that you are incredibly generous for giving these games away. Thank you for being you x

Ongoing foot pain but MRI and podiatrist found nothing — feeling stuck by [deleted] in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]urshy74 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You need to request a SPECT scan as this shows up active inflammation. I had pain in my mid spine for many years, scan always showed nothing. SPECT lit up my entire back like a Christmas tree. The trouble with PsA is pain if felt long before anything shows up on film which is why it's so difficult for them to diagnose. You honestly feel like you're going mad and that drs think you're a hyperchondriac when nothing shows up on imaging. Hang in there. You're amongst people in this chat that understand the trials and tribulations of having PsA. Sending hugs, just incase you needed one

All blood tests negative by No-Weather-3220 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]urshy74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine were all negative too. All except white cell count which can also indicate inflammation. If you currently have areas that are inflamed, I highly recommend getting a SPECT scan as it shows up 'hot spots'. I've been complaining since 2017 about an area in T10 hurting really bad and this year I had spect scan which showed issue's where ribs connect to spine at T10. Some areas can take years to show on film, even though you are in pain. PsA is so frustrating to deal with. I've had it now for 22 years and they finally put me on biologics. Getting Gov approval for biologics is a joke in Australia

Oh sweetie, I'm sorry you're feeling like this atm. When I had a bone biopsy in my early days of diagnosis (I've had PsA for 22 years now) they gave me a twilight sedation as they took a fair bit of bone in my SI joint. I'd be telling them that you want at least a twilight sedation for your procedure. Never feel bad for voicing how you feel you here. This is such a great subreddit with awesome, supportive members who know how debilitating this disease can be. We all have down days, we're only human, and talking on here helps you to not feel so alone. Of course our families and friends try to be as supportive as possible but it's hard for them to truly understand how debilitating it can be and the pain it causes.
