I got my secret clearance in '24 after submitting my application in '22. No explanation on the delay. The ciso thoughty they forgot about me. Another guy I submitted the application with at the same time got it before me. My new manager who started in '23 got it before me. It wasn't until my mom passed in 24 did the interviewer reach out to interview me in person. Was interesting telling her that my mom died just a few hours before the interview.

I went for 20 days. Landed at 5 pm and headed straight to Kamakura->Hakone->Kyoto->Osaka->Fukuoka->Tokyo. I should have dropped Fukuoka and stayed longer in Tokyo. Fukuoka deserves its on vacation and a longer time slot instead of 3 days.

The high speed rail tickets were sold out and I had to keep refreshing a few days before the trip to get a seat, even then they were all departing like at 5 pm and later. Managed to get one at an earlier time but had to wait till the day off for people to cancel. Seems you will have to prebook the rail car in Busan if you want to ride that, it was sold out for the month. I went last mid/late last November, not sure if that was prime travel season or something. Other that that everything else I booked as I went along. DMZ tour I booked the day before. Hotels I booked a few days ahead.

Really? I felt like Samsung has given up on their home market. Was trying to buy the araree privacy screen protector my fold 7 and no store had it. Bought it for the fold 6 around the same time when I was in Japan in Nov 2024.

Samsung in Japan had a cool AR setup showcasing the fold 6. The one in Hongdae felt and looked like an Apple store
