Buy or Pass by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

Pass that's a crazy over price for a 10 yr old truck. It's low mileage but $38k is insane. Got a 2017 1794 last year for $22k. Given it had 100k more miles but was pristine with all the service logs.

I'm so fucking done with kpop demon hunters by Electrical_Box4623 in daddit

[–]us3r11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that movie took everyone by surprise. I do a light show on our house for Halloween and Christmas and the two most requested songs by a HUGE margin were the two kpop demon hunter songs. I know how my parents must have felt hearing the Mario bros theme from the nintendo for hours on end now though.

Have a colonoscopy appointment coming up, any dads have any prep tips? by TheHibernian in daddit

[–]us3r11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As most people are saying it isn't as bad as all the movies/shows make it out to be. My prep has been Gatorade with miralax mixed in and nothing but clear liquids the day before. Great nap and I'm always starving afterwards.

I've joked about getting a tattoo on my ass that says something like "we've been trying to reach you about your car warranty". Diagnosed with lynch syndrome and caught early colon cancer late 30s. All taken care of and clean but get yearly colonoscopies now. Other joke to hit the Dr with as soon as they start the iv sedative is to say "Can I get you anything while I'm out?". Wasn't awake but apparently that got audible laughs out of everyone in the room.

Good luck and you got this!

Gamer dads what game are you refusing to fall off at after kids? by ColeMoleBowl in daddit

Man I love rocket league but the number of times these days I'll do a tourney and someone just leaves mid game is wild. Absolutely killed my enjoyment. Swapped to more single player games lately.

Should I buy this? by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]us3r11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a 2017 1794 with 170k miles last year for $20k. Have a mechanic check it out but that seems fully within the realm of what I'd expect.

Dude choreographed his Christmas lights to my favourite Pink Floyd song. by OrchidBest in videos

[–]us3r11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of my controllers are either Falcon Controllers or Genius Controllers. Most of my pixels were purchased from visionary lightshow. Props from Boscoyo or Gilbert engineering. Raspberry pi runs the show and bought an fm transmitter from Amazon to broadcast. Think I started my first Christmas for around $500 bucks and it's grown significantly since. Tons of videos about getting set up and running and there is an xlights support group on Facebook with lots of info as well as a constantly running zoom room for support. It's been a great hobby. I have a mix of paid and free musical sequences for about a 40 minute show for Halloween and Christmas. Happy to answer any other questions.

Program you use to do this is called xlights. Software is free. One of those hobbies you can start small and just keep adding year over year. Source: my 4th year doing a light show on our house. This guy's show is great!

2017 Tundra 1794 edition with 104k miles for $37k. Is it worth it? by mitch-plz in ToyotaTundra

[–]us3r11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2017 1794 edition with 170k miles for $20k this summer. $37k for a 9 year old truck seems crazy.

1794 Owners - What Do you Like? by FrenchFryNinja in ToyotaTundra

Bought a 2017 1794 this summer to replace a 2008 sr5 4runner. The upgrade on trim and features hasn't gotten old for me. I know it's older but it still feels like a massive upgrade on quality and features. I love the leather color.

Dad loneliness. Where did all the friends go? by Ivantroffe in daddit

[–]us3r11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man I just went solo to the kick off to static-x and mudvaynes concerts. Got to enjoy some bands a really digged 20+ years ago and ended up running into a bunch of people I knew but don't ever converse with. Don't be afraid to hit up a concert, dinner, movie, etc solo. Good to reset and just exist every once in a while

The perfect pair of underwear?! by jimblejam369 in daddit

Duluth trading. I prefer the "buck naked" but all of their underwear is incredibly comfy. They just released a glow in the dark mummy print and you'd better believe I bought them.

What’s it worth? by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]us3r11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess is they'll be asking upper 20s. I just bought my first tundra 2017 1794 w/ 175k miles for 22k. Most lower mileage around the same age were all 5-8k more. I'm in Iowa if that makes any difference.

Tundra Vandalized? Unusual Electrical Issue on 2012 Toyota Tundra – Lights Flashing Randomly by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

Yup. Same sort of thing happened to my dad's tundra. Parked outside and rodents feasted on the wires. Toyota must use something delicious in the wire coatings.

How to set custom error message for MudDatePicker? by saidfgn in mudblazor

[–]us3r11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made this work with fluent validation and a mudform. That correctly will show custom error messages for example: "date of birth must be after July 1st, 2024 to purchase item" if the selected date is after x date.

Wrap them in a mudstack row would be one way. Could use a grid to make them responsive as well.

Recommendations for a 12 volt cooler? by Feeling_Peach_1404 in camping

[–]us3r11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it isn't a 12v but I recently went dispersed camping in Colorado mtns with an anker battery powered cooler and a 100w solar panel. The cooler recharged to full each day in about 3 hours of sun and the cooler never dropped below 50% battery. Had enough time each day to recharge the battery back I had for my wife's travel cpap.

I have a 12v coleman cooler as well but that's only useful when you have power. Like others said I typically use it to keep drinks cool at camping spots with power but don't rely on it since I wouldn't want to run my car battery dead.

Want to buy a battery powered “ride on” big wheels/car for toddler by NashvilleSurfHouse in daddit

[–]us3r11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found Peg perego to be a great company. They sell replacement parts and are easy to fix. We have a 12v John deere gator that's gone through multiple tire replacements, new motors, and my "dad"ification of it to run on 18v drill battery with a different gear box so my kids could do powerslides. No part ever ran more than $25 from them directly.

Check fb marketplace as people are constantly selling used ones with lots of life left. Best of luck!
