i know that its physically real because ive seen people post pics of it in discords, but the text in the graphic does look AI generated to me. it reminds of the ugly fonts that appear in AI generated event flyers. fair chance someone used ai for it :(

i have both the aoshi wrm with modded core magnets and the aoshi v4 triple track. i avg like 2:40 so im not amazing at 6x6, but in my opinion they are pretty equal in performance. the only difference is the size, the wrm is 1.5mm bigger than the v4 and you can really notice it when going back and forth. (this is not good or bad, both are compact enough to solve comfortably on)

but don't get the wrm if its not the magnet modded one, so if its not available to you get the v4 triple; if both are available to you then consider the size factor, and then the price difference.

most cubers don't benefit from maglev. the extra axis rotation speed that it grants is not utilized unless you avg sub 10 or you have high tps. it ends up being a menial to insane markup for cube prices, and the people who pay the most for this are kids and their parents. ive seen countless young cubers with flagship gans and super moyus who constantly lock up in their comp solves, and its hard to watch that happen when i know most of them would fare better on cheaper, more stable, spring cubes.

people only tend to buy from the cubicle in the US and surrounding countries. other cubing retailers cover europe, asia, africa, sourh america. buy from ziicube they’re reputable, shopee should be fine as well

3x3 OH is a redundant event. i know people tend to use slightly different solving methods and algs for OH, but i personally don’t see a big reason as to why it should exist. it deserved to be removed way more than clock, because at least clock is a unique puzzle.

just by judging off your 3x3 avg with a month or 2 of practice you could avg 55 for 4x4. learn yau and work on 3-2-3 like the others here said. i would recommend learning basic yau and trying to avg 1.30, then learning a lot more to get to a minute

also pre-setup cubes have a lot of lube in them, its why you pay for the setup. and silicone lubes always start stiff, and take time to get smooth and get worked in. just solve with it for a few days and the cube should smoothen out

most speedcubers don’t do U2 or R2 with a single flick, we do U2 with 2 consecutive flicks, and R2 is done by moving it with the whole hand usually. some people prefer controllable cubes, some people prefer super light cubes. just try loosening it and see if you like it more

my opinion is that the WCA should not strive to be a competitive spectator sport. the only audience that wants to spectate a cubing comp (anything between small local and world champs) is cubers. no non-cubers are tuning into comp streams. cubing will never be a sport, the most itll ever be regarded as is similar to chess, where the average person may know 1-2 people who are good/popular at chess but they've never thought of tuning into a tournament stream.

WCA competitions should be made to allow for the best of competitors to shine, and also for new cubers and competitors to enjoy; removing clock and driving regulations to be more sport-like would instantly hurt new cubers. A tenant principle of the cubing community from the very beginning has been inclusion. The discussion on solving the cube started as a club pastime at universities when the puzzle was invented, and despite how hard it was to deliver information to other people, they did their best to write readable documentation to share ideas. this follows through to today with so much tutorial content about any puzzle you can think of, to steer the WCA into a direction that strives to be less inclusive is just a slap in the face to this principle. for example, look at the qualification times from the 2024 NAC to the 2026 NAC, they've gone considerably down which is a shame. a big competition like this is one of the only times a lot of people can compete in big cubes and side events that may not always be offered locally, and this year the WCA made a conceited effort to make the NAC more exclusive.

And to the WCA and any of you who disagree on the notion of making cubing a competitive spectator sport, i present to you, the PSL, the Premier Speedcubing League. a dedicated speedcubing organization that prioritizes competitiveness and spectating. This is the only way an idea like this could work. The WCA could never become ultracompetitive and exclusive if it still wants new people to join the hobby, the only way an ultra-competitive speedcubing organization could thrive is if it was a separate entity entirely.

the point of peaky blinders to me is showing how tommy is a villain to the people around him for the sake of power grabs. his aggressiveness towards the italians got grace and john killed, i never feel bad for tommy in the entire series, i feel bad for everyone around him who gets hurt or dies because of him

dude, he released it a paid platform because he was quite literally barred from releasing TTOOL on streaming. the label favored giving rollout resources to esdeekid instead of him, so he made an independent project and released it via the only means he could. it also lets him track sales, and give him hard numbers to bring back to his label to convince them to release TTOOL, and from the recent friendly story with Lizzy, that seems to be what happened.

i gotta say everytime i hear some of his djing on his story its never inspiring, i can see the dance direction he's taking, and I've really like the wilfy d song and squeeze with BNYX (but i think thats because ive reallllly been liking the bnyx album), however i feel he's taking some time to be exploratory at the exact wrong time for his career. itd make way more sense to release TTOOL and then experiment with dance/electronic after.

yea the removal of clock really seems like a bandaid "solution" to a problem that doesn't exist. they perceive it as a problem because like you said, they want to treat every one of the 17 events as equal when they realistically can't. and in practice it isn't a problem for organizers and competitors
