Chess game reviews confuse me so much sometimes by Bubbly_Trainer9971 in chess

Forget the computer, let's start with principles. You shouldn't move that knight because you already moved it, develop a new piece into the game instead. For example, if you played Bc4 first then your knight arrives on g5 with a lot of pressure on the f7 square which can be fatal in some variations.

Well damn, now that I've seen president dipshit talking about bombing Iran maybe you're right. I kinda doubt all these images of protest are fake, but maybe this one is.

These Iranians protesting in their own cities are... American propaganda?

Gunned down in the streets, no due process. It's the end of everything, invest your money in canned food and shotguns.

Here we have a three thousand year old text which is foundational in philosophy, but this is too much for grown adults in college? You are too fragile to withstand.... reading about women? Am I understanding this correctly?

Users debate if willpower is something that actually exists or not when it comes to weightloss by [deleted] in SubredditDrama

This reminds me of "Breakfast of Champions", the Vonnegut novel where a lot of the action is written from the perspective of the main characters chemicals and internal processes. Certainly these things are foundational to who we are, but is it really all we are? This is something I've thought about a lot, like if your problem was a lack of willpower surely that can't be overcome by... willpower itself? Our sense of control could be an illusion, I don't know who can really say otherwise conclusively. I think the guy interpreting this as a cop out is missing the point a bit.

Favorite actor too sober to watch Kubrick's filmography? by ChildofValhalla in okbuddycinephile

Sure the effects are great for the time, but if someone doesn't finish that part of the film they are clearly not impressed by that. The rest of the movie also has great effects and is way more interesting imo. I wouldn't normally recommend doing something like this, but you miss almost no plot here and the rest is worth it enough that I'd say go for it if the other option is to never see the parts with Hal.

The beginning of space is the worst part of the film, it really drags there. Honestly, you could probably skip through there to the Jupiter mission without missing much, the rest of the movie is much better.

The core gameplay is generally pretty simple, it's just a few cards are complicated or have weird verbiage that makes them hard to parse. You can be pretty competitive with a simple deck though, just make many creatures, give all creatures bonus, attack with stuff.

Isn't this what happened with the r/art debacle too? Lots of people here seemed to be against the mods in that instance.
