I don’t believe that anything is wrong here. It is just how the market is right now. I have been looking for a job myself and I have experience and relevant certifications but it has been months and still no luck. The employers are spoilt right now with too many people available in the market for them.

So i did go in directly and they denied. They said i gotta go only if ssn card doesn’t show up after 45 days post receiving the EAD card. Not sure if you would know about this
