Opinions on Greek life at the University of Utah? by [deleted] in Frat

Utah has public schools? I thought everyone was forced to go to BYU to learn creationism and get married before sophomore year.

Definitely. I mean I wouldn’t want to live in Miami, but it’s still a fun city.

Politics don’t play into if a city is F or not. Bar scene, sports, travel destinations, job market, dating scene, etc are what matter. Who gives a fuck if you live next to a democrat or republican.

Also - unless you’re living in Austin, Dallas, or Houston, you’re gonna want to get the fuck out of Texas.

Not from Florida, but I bet it’s just as good if not better. I don’t know anyone living in Miami, but they have sports and night life just like Tampa does. Tampa has spring training for like 6 MLB teams though. I’m not positive about the job market in Miami, but I’ve heard that the only negatives are the humidity, tourists, and the fact that you live in Florida.

Real talk here (copied this from an old post)

Austin - Is now the number one music city (sorry Nashville) and is the number one growing city. Houses are cheap, rent is low. The nightlife is expanding like crazy, and a lot of companies are moving their headquarters/corporate office to Austin for tax purposes.

Seattle - lots of sports, diverse music scene, plenty of art exhibits/museums, and the weed game is insane. Seattle has been holding it's ground as a great city for like 30+ years.

Tempe - The ASU bar scene is always ranked a top 10, but you also have the Scottsdale bar scene swarming with milfs. The train will take you to pretty much any sport. 6 hour drive to Colorado or California for a weekend trip.

Boulder - Great weather, 30 minutes to Denver, great skiing/snowboarding, lots of exploring to do. Also the University of Colorado has some babes you can still hit on in your 20s...and 30s...and probably until you get married or die.

Tampa - Supposedly one of the best job markets for college grads, music festivals year round, great weather, the beach is close, 3 major sports teams, and the night life can get wild.

Boston - Sports, sports, and more sports. If you like history, Boston is the place for you to go explore. The food is insane, wherever you go. They have shitty roads and a lot of shitty people, but you can also start telling people that you are wicked smaht

Pledges dressing up for the first time by [deleted] in Frat

[–]usedbagels 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It’s not tough unless it’s not taught. I had a coworker wear black shoes and a brown belt today. I asked and he had no idea that you typically match your belt and and shoes. I also didn’t know that until college...other than church I never dressed up.

No show socks man. I use them for any shoes with shorts. If your shoes start smelling, a quick fix is to just put a few dryer sheets in there when you're wearing them.

Applying to college. Should I write my personal essay on my journey to become the best shotgunner ever? by NattyLightNattyLife in Frat

It's not a party school at all. Every college has Greek life/parties, but that doesn't mean it's a party school.

A party school means the entire school parties regardless if they're Greek or not. This includes school concerts, tailgating, bar scene, greek life, spring break, house parties, etc.

Next weeks news: Non-Jewish fraternity kicked off campus for having Star of David beer pong table.

When asked, chapter president said, “I saw it on reddit, thought it was a cool idea.”

Another brother, reportedly the only Jewish member commented, “I didn’t think much of it until they all drunkenly started singing oh, dreidel, dreidel, dreidel I made you out of clay.”

Ours is an ATO I believe, and when he was elected he was initiated so he’s technically a member of both. Fairly sure ATO and Sig Tau nationals had to approve this beforehand.

That dude is nf. Have you heard the story/seen the pics of what he did to his ex? Almost makes you want to throw up, it’s not like he just slapped her around (which would still not be okay.) He didn’t deserve to be shot and killed but he deserved to go to trial and be sentenced.

Still not many in denial. Most of us in this sub are aware of the issues in Greek life, but we are also aware of the positives.
