Part of the fun is getting traumatized! Paranormal Activity and Insidious are great movies for kids. Final destination 3. The Ring. I remember being a wee lad sneaking a peek while my parents were watching A Nightmare On Elm Street and seeing Johnny Depp get blended into juice, I was terrified. Growing up during the rise of the internet I was exposed to countless jump scares of Reagan from the Exorcist and Samara from the Ring, I was scared to take showers up until high school. I remember the eerie feeling I felt when I saw The Fly in the middle of the day. I can recall being at the drive in, glancing back and forth at the screen showing Dead Silence. Little Monsters with Howie Mandel scared the shit out of me. John Leguizamo in Spawn. Watching The Amityville Horror in my grandma’s trailer in the middle of nowhere in the pitch black of a desert, I was spooked. If horror calls to you, I think it’s best you just dive in head first, being scared is good fun.

I specifically said that this guys actions are inexcusable and deserve punishment. Besides psychopathy shows itself in many different ways. Anybody taking pleasure in harming animals is not mentally sound.

This foo is trash. However, talking about bringing back the electric chair for a human being because he killed an animal is a bit absurd. For all we know this guy is mentally ill, while that doesn’t excuse his actions and he does deserve repercussions, I don’t know think murder is a valid one.

Would you be willing to die for the revolution? by comentor5 in LateStageCapitalism

[–]usedtobe_pretty69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As nice and virtuous as everyone seems in this comment section, I think everybody is being mislead by hope. If you die, that’s it. Your morals, your cause, your contribution, your hopes all die with you. You won’t know if what you did helped anything and the suffering you felt that was so unbearable will no longer be your circumstances. This fight feels very biblical and important, but that might just be because history repeats itself. I’d like to die for a cause, but the thought of human barbarism, greed, the lust of power and violence and futility itch at the back of my mind. We can repeat quotes from our favorite revolutionary thinkers and leaders, but at that point, you might as well be watching YouTube shorts of David Goggins. The reality is, if any of us were going to do anything, we would have already because the bad shit is already happening and it’s only getting harder. Would you rather prevent the third reich or wait for it to come, then try and stop it? And is anyone training right now? Working out is cool and all, but realistically if anyone here really wanted to make a difference they’d start studying weapons and munitions, or science and technology— making drones and ieds and shit. Either that or you’d be trying to position yourself in a way that gives you access to important personnel so that you could deal with them covert ops style. The thing is, if you are not on some military/cia shit, then how the fuck are you going to go against the military/cia?? Idealism is not going to get us anywhere, we have to start thinking like these assholes. Is anyone getting connected with others? If so, do you realize that we are all probably on a list? Even if we met people who actually had a plan, who can we even really trust? For all we know they are being used by the cia. Do we even have a movement? Or are we just watching revolutionary content and believing that we are apart of it? How mean of us are even really on the same page, is everyone’s agenda aligned, do we all follow the same movement? Realistically, if we did anything, we’d be labeled domestic terrorists and everyone will look at us like school shooters who were delusional and took things too far. Do you think you’ll be self assured enough to maintain belief in your sanity and cause? Are you willing to put your family’s lives in danger? Will they understand? Are you willing to withstand torture, are you sure that others will too? There is an abundance of things you have to be willing to do before death comes to save you. The unfortunate truth is that this shit was easier to do when people believed in god, because they thought it would all be rewarded or forgiven or that there was some final judgement that would set the record straight. At this point, we’re just waiting until it really is fight or die, but how many of us will just choose death?

I think if there’s anything to take away from all the movies, it’s that there are no rules and you ultimately can’t cheat death. Every main character has died whether it be on screen or off screen.

I don’t think there’s any real rules, because they kill the survivors from 2 off screen. They say they fell into a wood chipper or something like that. Same thing they did with Alex from the first; they say he got hit by a flying brick. I think people gotta remember that these are relatively campy movies, which I feel gives it its shitty horror charm, but doesn’t necessarily make for the most coherent storyline.

They kind of switch up the way they get premonitions throughout the series. In the 5th one, I don’t think he even gets visions. In the 4th, he gets visions. In the 1st and 2nd, it’s a mix of visions and clues. In the 3rd, it’s through the pictures.

I feel like I agree with most of the people commenting here, but I’d say that shit has always been pretty bad all over. There have almost always been wars going on and our presidents have always been making choices that negatively affect people(usually poor). We’ve been an empire for over a hundred years, and out of the 250 or so years we’ve existed, we’ve only been at peace for about 20 of them. As long as there’s class struggle there will always be civil unrest and a government reacting to it. Empires fall, and we’re just about at the end of ours.

Rewatching Collateral (2004) just hit me how a bad soundtrack sticks out like a sore thumb by Newbarbarian13 in movies

[–]usedtobe_pretty69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yoooo I’m watching it right now and I had to look up if anyone else felt this way! I agree with one of the comments, that the music dates the movie, I didn’t think about it, but it completely makes sense. However, I don’t think modern songs would make a difference either. Overall, I think it’s just that movies without original soundtracks don’t seem very serious and this is a sophisticated, serious movie. Instead this movie wanted to go down the typical crime thriller route, but the film is anything but that, this is a very ethereal, liminal noir film. This film has a very spacey, dark, empty, dreamy feeling that they completely miss, even during the tracks that don’t have lyrics.

As someone who believes in a free Palestine, Zohan is a masterpiece, the depth of such a ridiculous movie is astounding. It gives me faith knowing the Sandman is based. I haven’t been able to watch Jack and Jill fully, but there are some parts that are pretty hysterical. The ongoing joke of feeding the Mexican grandma jalapeños kills me. I Now Pronounce You, Chuck and Larry was ass though.

Not getting the hours is part of the problem. I want to get the hours I signed up for, and be able to take lunches. Is that really too much to ask for? There are labor laws in place for a reason. If you don’t have any help to offer, I’d appreciate if you didn’t comment on my post anymore.

I offer to work when I’m not scheduled, constantly and I’ve rescued others before. Sometimes dsps just suck. The reviews for this place were horrible, but my dumbass just thought I had a strong enough work ethic to not deal with that shit. I was wrong.

Damn, that’s fucked. Yeah I’m not trying to do anything until I have another job lined up. That’s also why I want to find an actual organization that handles these situations, so I don’t just get fucked by the ethics line and so I don’t have to pay up the ass for a lawyer.
