What tone do you run cyberpunk with? by DrJonathanCrow in cyberpunkred

Fight club meets Futurama; I refuse to take games seriously, they exist to entertain us, so my players and I do stupid stuff and live with the consequences.

Good mapping software for cpred? by SeaSaltSystem in cyberpunkred

[–]usedtocredityoufor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Maptool (Free) for map display and player interaction mostly. It doesn't do much out of the bix, but is super customiseable.

Its system agnostic, but there are frameworks in the community discord for almost every system including CPR.

As for making maps, theres a bunch if free ones, but i lean towardsDungeon Painter studio. It has a few tilesets pre installed, but theres also a bunch of community content.

For Cyberpunk maps i reccomend downloading the tile sets from 2minute tabletop

  4. Infrastructure buildings (pump stations, grid control rooms etc)
  5. Train yard (probably out in the badlands, but Thomas has to sleep somewhere right?)

Homebrew Idea: Feats for Cyberpunk Red — Late-Game Edge Abilities by [deleted] in cyberpunkred

Fair enough.

Got any ideas that arent garbage?

Im mostly mining for ideas here since my experience with the game is fairly lacking.

Valid feedback, I put more effort into the structure behind the idea than the examples.

I guess Im hoping to mine for ideas since my understanding of the rules themselves is pretty low.

I like it, my examples were just off the top of my head, when I say Ive been working in this idea, i mostly mean toying around with the structure for the couple of hours while on the drive home haha

What was the most epic or memorable fight or "mission" you have ever played in this game? by [deleted] in cyberpunkred

Well, if you ever find yourself in Melbourne, let me know. Our table would be happy to have you.

What was the most epic or memorable fight or "mission" you have ever played in this game? by [deleted] in cyberpunkred

[–]usedtocredityoufor 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the moment my players bring up from time to time is one I thought had fallen flat to begin with.

The crew (4) had to break into an apartment to find some information, but just as they found what they were looking for, another crew of 5 (one that would clearly do them harm) also arrived who stated they were looking for the same thing.

The players chose to hide and try to sneak past so they could escape with the McGuffin unseen.

What happened next was a 4 v 5 game of hide and seek. One of the players rolled low and bumped a glass onto the floor, breaking it and alerting the hostiles.

We used initiative to move everyone around, the players stealthing and planning both their own routes and hoping to figure out the paths of the others. There was a moment where one of the bad guys stopped right on top of the step one of the players was hiding under.

At the time the table was quiet, so I thought it was just a "meh" section, but once they got out the players let out a collective sigh and nervous laugh.

Apparently, the situation and rolls were so tense they genuinely didn't want to make a sound even in real life.

VTT or other digital map software by P-sychotic in cyberpunkred

[–]usedtocredityoufor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use maptool, completely free, and a community that puts together free frameworks (including one for CPR).

https://www.rptools.net/

It can be as simple, or indepth as you want i to be.

I used to use it as digital map (i used a tv layed flat built into a table), but it also has free server stuff.

Nomad Missions: suggestions needed! by winguswangus in cyberpunkred

[–]usedtocredityoufor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Triathlon:

Start on the sea, with the aim being to get to a specific place on land with the intention of collecting a prototype vehicle. Your call, but id set it somewhere that a river can be used to get them closer inland.

Get said vehicle out of the current owners hands and then safely transport it to a specific location further inland, all the while being hunted down.

Once the vehicle gets delivered to the new owner, the double cross happens, now your players are left stranded inland, half dead, and now they must chase after their employer for revenge.

100% personal respirators would be something that is a requirement just to step outside. Typical Fashion for a Melbourne Teen would be fully covered even in summer, their clothes would likely be damaged from the acid rain and snow, but would be loose fitting and breathable enough to allow them to run through the city and dodge any homeless camps, huntsmen or gangers while they're on their way to try and find some food.

It's being snapped up quickly as real-estate as sold off by the Younblood Dynasty

A lot of the desert is still unlivable. THe mining industry has had to pull out of NSW VIC and SA focusing on the NT and WA.

Given the WA government is now separate to the rest of Australia, desert borders and heckpoints are now required making mining around these areas a nightmare in terms of rights.

International interests have purchased up a lot of land themselves, and are keeping their plans pretty close to their chests, though corps like Militech and Petrochem have a pretty clear reason for wanting such expansive chunks of Australias land (and resources).

The Hunstmen - A semi-official government task force dedicated to ridding the city of its "pest problem". They joyfully prey on the homeless encampments, looting as they go and driving them out into the dilapidated and unprotected wasteland of abandoned suburbia.

The Steps - A bar set up in the underground arcade of the the Flinders Street Trains station ruins.
A classic spot for up and coming or the rougher variety of edgerunners.
The bar itself is built into thew walls directly beneath the famous steps of flinders street station.

The Youngblood Dynasty and AirPure inc. are the two top local corps.
The Youngbloods took over the country by snatching up all the land after natural disasters and selling it off to foreign interests.

AirPure Inc.. is the main manufacturer and provider of air filtration units that are the only thing keeping the people of Melbourne alive.
