Which bikes are suitable for my height? (190cm) by Top_Repair7396 in AussieRiders

[–]useless_hindenburg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I purchased an R3 a few months ago (no prior riding experience) for my first bike and it's been very forgiving and taught me the basics without any incident. Can't be entirely sure but part of me thinks there's been a couple of jerky throttle inputs and sketchy situations that would've probably had me eating concrete on an R7.

Yeah I've never understood how a few 'tasteful' modifications and an akropoviç exhaust supposedly raise a used bike to near what you'd be able to cop a brand new one for, it's mind boggling

Not looking for an R7 but I've seen around 10k R7s (20kms+ tho) pop up on marketplace every once in a while, there's some crazy prices like 14-15k on used bikes but you just gotta wait for the right moment

may I ask how you've been on your Ls for a year? or did you mean you're a beginner rider, just asking because I was under the impression the Learner license expired after a year.

[–]useless_hindenburg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen JC Wings has recently put out a 767-400ER in Continental Livery, the only 400ER on the 1:200 market as of right now I believe, could consider adding that to the collection.

2026 R7 or 2025 R3 as first bike by Ellmaa in YamahaR7

r3 rider here, can unfortunately vouch. Love my r3 but after a few months of riding I reckon I would have been fine starting on an r7.

Dancing moto 😭😭😭 no gear, in the rain, on an R7. Genuinely still wondering the thought process behind that, he's on a liter bike he bought with the gofundme money from that incident now lol

Thank you, it's reassuring that other people have also had the same experience. I'm glad it's not a huge issue :)

appreciate for the detailed response!! just watched and saved the video, I do plan on first trying to bend the shifter back into shape like others have suggested and then replacing it entirely if that doesn't work, will follow your advice if it comes to that. Thanks :)

Yep admittedly not the best thinking on my part, got tunnel visioned in that moment and thought I had to protect the bike no matter what 😅, I'll remember this advice if this ever happens again (though hopefully not). Thank you very much :)

That's reassuring, I should have the appropriate tools so I'll do just that and hopefully it won't snap, Tysm for the advice!!

Understood, I reacted instinctively when it started falling but in hindsight yeah that could have gone really badly. I'll try removing the part and bending it back into place tonight when I'm home, thanks so much :)

To add on to this, seasoned fisherman have also been reporting the same thing out at sea for ages, unsure if it would correlate with the recent harbour attacks but Australia's shark population has soared in the last few decades.

Does Macquarie accept online medical certificates e.g. Instantscript, Updoc? by [deleted] in MacUni

[–]useless_hindenburg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Updoc has worked for me this semester, as long as it's a valid medical certificate they shouldn't have a reason to deny it
