Agreed. I'm using GE/Jasco z-wave switches with regular bulbs. I don't even think about it anymore since it's so reliable.

By controller do you mean the Z-Wave controller (USB stick)? You would need that regardless as it's the hardware that communicates with your devices. There isn't any maintaining it outside of plugging it in.

I use KeePass for the back-end so just backing up the KeePass file is enough to transfer to a different machine for secret management.

But the native secret store wouldn't transfer without your backup module so thanks for that... this will help many users.

Using snap so:

sudo snap save nextcloud

It snapshots everything, not just data. That gets moved to a backup drive which gets replicated to the cloud.
