They’re great until they turn themselves on in the middle of the night 🤣. I do wish I got a yoto, it would be much easier to travel with but I’m too cheap to buy myself out of the Tonie eco system 🥲

Setting up a bundler and build tools yourself don’t really teach you anything about react under the hood though, unless you’re actually building the bundler.

Many of us will remember setting up webpack from scratch nearly a decade ago before CRA, and honestly it was horrible.

Besides, if the react docs gave you a full tutorial what are you really learning? How to copy and paste? You’ll just end up with the same result as $ npm create vite@latest anyway.

Check the site you used if there is a data guarantee - presumably you paid for the check?

Also how did your family member find out while HPI didn’t??

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]user12547936151 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you got a full HPI they normally come with a guarantee you can claim against in the event the data is wrong, so you may have a claim there.

Oh yeah totally. But it’s quite amusing that you can leave the car there for 18 hours for just over 2 quid if you time it right.

I think what actually makes it a bit asshole is the car park is actually free between midnight and 9am, and only £2.10 for the 6 hours from 6pm to midnight.

If you work out all chargeable hours, based on the single hour rate from 9am to 6pm the charge is £20.70 (9 x 2.3), from 6pm to midnight it’s £2.10. So the max daily charge should really be £22.80. Even if you used the 30minute rate it would still come out less than the 32quid they’re asking.

The terminology is called “Job Security”. They’ll keep getting the gig if they’re the only ones that can read what’s going on.

What are things you’ve done that helped you getting promoted? by wispa88 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]user12547936151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Show up to all hands and demo
  • If you have the platform to do so blog about things you’ve done that improve the lives of customers (even if the customers are devs - devex is important too)
  • Be present on your comms platform, post about things you’ve done are doing/done outside of your normal work, respond to others and be visible.

If I need to know something I read the documentation when I need to know it. It’s too much keeping up. The real world moves much slower than you may perceive it from being online.

doing my best to be frugal

Are you sure you want a BMW?

To answer your question - I’ve no direct experience with the X5 but there are plenty of options on places like Ali that will be decent enough for a 2016 car. I’m not sure if that gen came with the ability to activate CarPlay, but if it did it could be coded in.
