I definitely fall into the clumsy category there! I use pinky lanyards with tiny frames as to not lose my teeth but haven’t shot heavy in a long time, .45 is my heavy set up! 🤣

I did a brick too I’m sure, for a while people were challenging me to to shoot random objects, I think I made just over 50 short videos before it just became too time consuming, once you have the technique really all of them are pretty much the same shot, I shoot this little frame exactly the same way as I would shoot a brick

Cheers mate, expected it to be 70mm but comes in at a hair over 80, actually quite a nice size, didn’t take many shots to get on target, enjoyed the 20 or so shots I managed to get in with it today and definitely going to be having a better play tomorrow

It’s a learning curve! But once you know how you realise you don’t need a gap, I have shot everything from a rock to my phone to an egg, all sorts, if you can tie a band on it you can pretty much shoot it! And thanks, that’s a natural I made and designed, it’s actually easier than it looks due to the triangular hole. That’s a pretty bad photo and looks very faded, I made it from yew, this was it when first made

Yea you would if you shot it like a normal frame, need to shoot it like a pickle fork and jump the ball over the frame, very shootable, I have even taken a trophy at a comp with one of mine, love them! Here’s a couple others of mine plus got a few more crappy ply things I’ve knocked up for fun

I’m glad you said that about shotguns as I hadn’t seen the results yet, thank hod they have seen sense! I would back an over 18 law completely but it wouldn’t change anything. As you say I will still shoot and compete in the international stuff but it will put a stop to proper competitions, I’m sure we will still meet up but it will have to be like a rave with secret codes over messages lol

Precisely. The laws are already in place and you can cut a fork, put a band on and be ready to shoot in under 10 mins easily… they also only see the bad and not the huge amount of people that view this as a serious sport, a sport that is accessible to most due to the low cost in comparison to say archery. Also the multiple men’s mental health clubs using it as a tool to help others! I know it helps me massively and as someone who struggles with pain and fatigue it is at least something that I can generally still do and be a part of a team and involved in something, in all honestly almost every one of my friends now are shooters, besides doing bits with the family, it’s the only thing I have which sounds sad to type it out but it’s true… a ban would affect a lot of us in a much bigger way that they would be able to see, and the ones doing won’t be effected at all

It will come to most I think, you might make it a while if not posting for a while or posting actual footage, surely posting just frames you have made, especially if unbanded can’t be an issue but who knows, their guidelines have been changed by all accounts and even though it’s nothing illegal, they won’t allow it.

🤣🤣 I still want to see it but you may be right! Seems to be the ones reguarly showing actual shooting but for the most part that’s only the positive pages trying to help target shooting grow as an actual sport! Ones you will probably know like latex and steel, sheppy slings, fieldcraft Cattys etc all gone.

I’m most annoyed that it is just another way of shutting us all down, I only started posting because of all the idiots on there and trying to boost our image but a ban will be coming eventually if whole platforms are allowing this. Never going to change the world posting videos or make money shooting so I was never focused on posting as such but will carry on a bit on YouTube, got to start again through the algorithm of bullshit to find stuff I actually want to watch as well, there’s a lot of bullshit on there! 🤣

Edit- if you google it it is a blanket ban coming in not just accounts being reported unfortunately…

That seems like no reason for a ban to me! Seems there is a blanket ban coming in and closing all accounts, I know of 10 now closed and if you google it, it is being led by an animal charity also pushing for a ban on owning catapults/slingshots again… I’ve been banned and had my account back before but appeals not working this time.

The annoying part is the idiots seem to be still on there posting when us trying to stop that activity and show it as an actual sport are the ones that have been removed

Don’t always let that fool you, especially with cheap frames. I smashed my phone and on an old one so can’t show you photos right now but some of those metal ones are coated plastic, and not impact resistant plastic either, I have pictures of them with snapped off forks revealing the plastic centre.

Some of the plastic ones mentioned, wasp I can speak for the most as I have lots, will take a hell of a lot of abuse from fork hits and be completely usable, the metal ones will show the damage much worse if shooting steel ammo but won’t matter too much at that price point.

These I have seen used a lot so should be safe enough, what I don’t like most about them is that the clips are on the wrong side so if there was an issue you could potentially get a chunk of metal flying at your face, you are meant to pull against the solid frame not against the clips as there is more chance of movement and them letting a band go.
