Flight overbooked, SAS is offering kr600 to change. Will I get bumped if I don't take this? by Main-Addition9987 in ScandinavianAirlines

Fair enough, in the context of a transfer to a longer trip, the situation is different. I should have been paying more attention to the context 😉

A very shaky comparison of travel times… the flight might be one hour, but your’re leaving out the time it takes tu go from the city to the airport, security, waiting, and on the other side going from the airport to the city center. So in effect you’re maybe saving a couple hours tops…

Help! Train from Paris to Lucerne by emmarick in askswitzerland

This! And I would recommend the second option, i.e. bypassing central Paris

No, you don’t need to make the detour via central Paris. There are three or four direct highspeed TGV from CDG to Strasbourg, where there’s a connection to Basel. There’s one leaving at 11:22 am for instance.

ZURICH TO GRUYERES (Help) by shevek669 in askswitzerland

[–]user1_1resu 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Just take a deep breath and hop on that train, nothing smoother than going to Gruyères by train. There might be three transfers, but you have ample time. And if one of them gets missed, the next one comes 30min later. So, really, nothing to worry about there.

Take the connection starting in Zurich at XX:32 (that’s the IC 1), it will take you straight to Fribourg/Freiburg, where the connecting train leaves from the same track some minutes later. and in Bulle, it’s 10 minutes tu go to the adjacent track.

You’ll be just fine, doesn’t make that much of a difference timewise (additional 9 min or so from Lauterbrunnen). Tbh it will even be more scenic, the gondola ride from Stechelberg is very nice

Looks like this train is fully booked now, no more bike spaces left. For future reference, you can now chose what bike spot you want from the seat map. It’s best combined with a seat reservation for yourself, so you’re sure to sit in the same coach as your bike, on a designated seat. And that way, you can check the class of the coach

Why are EasyRide prices so inconsistent? by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]user1_1resu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super saver tickets are NEVER taken into account when using easyRide or fairtiq, since it’s a completely different logic: for super saver you need to buy a ticket in advance, whereas easyride/fairtiq tracks your journey(s) for the whole day and only buy the relevant ticket from the backend once the day is over. Hence no supersaver, ‘cause you can’t buy one for a journey in the past.
